three cars here:

'13 10 Series FR-S
'08 Scion tC
'96 Altima (POS train car that won't die)

Not sure what's in store in Altima's limited future but thinking about a new car in the next year (FR-S stays, tC is mint/built like a tank and can't get much for it anyway)

I've got 3 that I drive, and a few I don't.

2013 BRZ - weekend driver, sometimes weekday driver
1998 Ford Ranger - Daily, farm truck and haul stuff. In the words of Adam Sandler, it's a nice piece of shit.
2000 MR2 spyder - weekend toy, sometimes weekday driver.

Non running and/or driving
2001 MR2 spyder - slow project, almost have the boosted k swap ready to drop in.
2002 MR2 spyder - was an SMT car, converting to MT.
1982 Camaro z28 - was my first car, going to restore it after the 01 spyder is on the road.

This spring the benz is gone and being replaced by 2018 Subaru WRX STI fully loaded with aftermarket bits from day 1. Have come to the realization that I no longer want to drive automatic vehicles for 5 months of the year. Can't wait for the new ride.

2004 manual corolla for a to b.
2013 manual brz for fun to drive.
2002 manual suzuki grand vitara swb 4wd for where the road is not.
This list regularly changes , due to my children trying to drive and also very skilled sydney drivers who don't see other cars.

I have 3 cars currently and it's too much. I enjoy all of them because the driving experience is very different in each car, but I need to sell one and go back to owning just 2 cars. The FR-S 1.0 is my newest car and that one is a definite keeper. I just can't decide if I want to sell my 04 mustang GT or 2009 Cobalt SS turbo sedan. I like the sleeper aspect of the Cobalt and the power output. I like the Mustang for it's looks and exhaust note though....undecided.

To Mattyice , I'd say sell both the Mustang and Cobalt , pool the money and buy a truck. Then you'd have a truck and sports car. Pretty much the best of all worlds (good MPG on the FRS .... not hybrid great , but better then many people out there)

I’d consider an SUV, too. I personally find a truck inconvenient for my needs but an SUV like a 4Runner is perfect.

Or better, Jeep Wrangler. Love mine, 4x4 convertible, looks great, can change it how YOU like, and gets horrible gas mileage, lol. If you want space, get 4 door, not a fan personally.

I def see the appeal as a weekend off-roader, but they wear on me day to day. Every time I’m in one, I wonder how a vehicle that big has that little cargo and people space. The 4Runner walks that line of utility, capability, and comfort much better.

I have three now myself..

‘13 FR-S, ‘10 Prius, ‘95 BMW 318ic

Prius gets me around for the daily driver without dipping heavy in my pockets for gas.

Frs will be grip oriented. Autocross & HPDE

BMW will be the drift car. But will start off understanding the dynamics of it grip wise first in AX.

My wife and I have had three cars at various times:

1. Wife/"family car" - VW GTI

2. My DD:
a. Porsche Boxster S 987.2
b. Nissan 350z

3. My weekend/track car - Scion FR-S

I can honestly say I prefer having just two cars, mostly because I've got a two-car garage. It was a hassle taking one car out of the garage when another was blocking the driveway. It was even more of a hassle when I wanted to work on one car in the garage and needed to move the other two outside.

So I ended up getting rid of the 350z and Boxster S and just kept the FR-S. If my next house has a three-car garage or a wide driveway, I'll probably add another.

When we bought our current house, two of my sons were under 8 years old and the third wasn't born yet. I had the foresight/luck to decide I wanted a house where if everyone had a car I could still get MomHawk's and mine in the garage.

Our solution was a house with a rear facing garage. That meant it had to have a "turn around" to get in and out of the garage. We can park 5 cars (two in the garage, three on the edge of the pad) and still get in and out of the garage with none of the cars being visible from the street.

I can also get a motorcycle in front of or behind my car in the garage when I have one (turned sideways)
