I'm getting this sound now too. 2200ish miles. Also have the crickets and a very odd lope. Kind of sounds like it's misfiring. On top of this, last night I walked out to the garage and the rear of the car just started buzzing. I didn't even touch it.

Needless to say, it's in the shop now and I'm rocking a loaner Outback.

I'm having this sound as well but I'm not sure if its the natural resonance of the exhaust system or loose exhaust shields. If it were loose exhaust shields I would think that the noise would be present throughout the rpm range, but the fact that we all experience the sound at the same rpm would lead me to believe its a natural resonance. I've experienced this in other cars.

Folks I got this sound too. It's got to be the sound tube rattling on the intake manifold. I might try that rubber thing fix. And get those heat shield bolts fixed on my first trip to the dealer.

Most likely the sound tube delete didn't cure the problem, it just masked it.
The sound tube amplifies all sound (including noise) and sends it into the cabin.
The noise could still be there, just not enough for you to hear it.

I got some perrin exhaust tips attached to the stock exhaust. I thought I was them rattling but they are on tight. It sounds like it's coming from the sound tube. I heard it a little bit today, but later on in my driving I did not hear it at all. It's only at 4k to 5k rpms....weird.

I have the sound as well. Mine goes away after about 20 minutes of driving. Is this the same for you guys or does it happen all the time?

It does seem to go away slightly after the car warms up.
It's definetly the sound tube rattling on the manifold cover or the lower engine cover bolts.

I got it too! I tightened up the heat sheild near the overpipe and put some o rings on the loose under engine cover bolts. Still have the noise. No noise generator on my car. this seemed to develop after installing my overpipe. The flange is awfully close to the hestshielding but i don't think its the problem. I'm thinking of removing the heat shields completely on the header and putting exhaust wrap on it. I don't know but anyone that has fixed it please chime in.

I would wrap it...

I have not done anything, and I don't have the noise anymore.

Did someone find out where this rattle is coming from? It happens at 4k rpm and it goes away by 4300 rpm . It sounds like a loose heat shield. Only happens under load.
I have a perrin silicone hose so the noise generator is gone.
I put a few washers in the lower engine cover so its all tight in there and i still have it. All bolts are torqued to spec.
Someone mentioned the shifter, which I also removed to try it out without any luck.
I had it before I installed the perrin overpipe, so its no that.
I'll be installing a Vortech SC in the next few weeks so I really want to fix it before that.
Please someone point me in the right direction.

Well about the cricket sound! I took mine yesterday to the dealer, drop it off at my lunch hour, and by 3:00pm they had the noice gone! They told me that the high presure fuel pump is the cause, so the replaced it under warranty...so far the noise is gone and all i hear is the sound of the engine. The other sound on the rear i heard is normal! But i havent experience it. Good luck

Don't worry, they will return. I had my pump replaced as well and they came back after about another 1000 miles. So far everyone I have talked to that has gotten it warrantied has had the crickets return. One guy actually said they were louder during the second coming. Mine aren't as loud but they are still quite offensive to my ears.

I have a rattle coming from the support bracket for the front pipe. U guess the bolt got loose. And then the pipe moved under load and repeatedly hit the bolt... That caused the bolt to become misshapen and not screw in all the way.... Replaced the bolt and made sure it was tight...2 days later the eagle came back. I need to figure out why the bolt won't stay tight.

Anyone have a similar problem?
