No, turbo kit was money well spent. Even at 7psi there's a whole lot more life to the car.

OP great thread. Finally some people willing to share the truth about FI and how they personally feel about it. Most people would never admit they regret a $5000 decision but I like the fact that a lot of people are being very honest. great thread indeed

Thanks guys, I am coming up on the decision myself and want to know, what to expect.

Anyone go turbo and run like 9-11 PSI and happy with it?

What gauges would you recommend with a turbo setup? I was thinking oil pressure, oil temp, and boost.

10 psi is fantastic, just watch your speed when passing. You still won't be the fastest car on the road but you'll start hitting redline at about 155 anyway.

Add AFR to that list and you should be set regarding gauges. I don't race much so I've just been using Torque to monitor AFR, oil temp and Boost.

I run 10 to 15 psi and it's awesome. 10ish is the limit before you have to start worrying about fuel upgrades.

Oil pressure, oil temp,, afr, and boost are the necessary gauges imo

Thanks guys - good stuff to hear.

10 PSI, 93 octane, ECUtek tuned and will really just be street driven. I live on the coast in Maine, so temps don't get too hot in the summer (we get some days over 90, but nothing like down south). I was going to do the fuel pump, but not the injectors.

Yeah, I want to ultimately be at about 12 psi on the works stage 2 kit when everything is said and done. I figure it will be more than enough to have a lot of fun and get back that boost feel I have been missing! Still waiting for dyno results

Besides the obvious supporting mods such as oil cooler and whatnot, what are you referring to as far as pay to play? I always use that term when I am referring to constant maintenance or things breaking constantly EX. My '72 Harley hardtail with the biggest bore and stroke you can put on a shoveled requires consistent valve adjustments and rebuilds.

Pretty much the same thing. This car is no different than any other car in terms of when you add more power things start to break. You'll want to make sure you have some spare funds for small parts and also for larger items such as a clutch, axles, transmissions or even a new motor

And they look / feel more stock. Both are sized very well and are very cost efficient when you consider the headroom and what they offer when it comes to ease of tuning. I could probably do 1-3 flashes to get "close enough" for daily use on my own car when it comes to tuning those.

For reference I have a gtx30r running mid 20's psi on ethanol and I have been browsing transmissible options as I am on my third one, and have already broken a set of DSS axles. So I have had my fair share of boost. lol

I went on a canyon drive last night and turned my car down to 8psi (on ethanol) and rarely broke 1/4 throttle. There is really little need for more than 8-12psi unless you are doing dedicated drag.
Not to go to far away from OP, but this post caught my attention. For the rest of you guys who are FI. If you could do it all over again would you go a different kit/setup? Post your current setup as well and what you would go to if you would and why. Also state if you would go back NA to stay on topic.
