Recommended Forged Con Rods?

I'm picking my GT86 up next week and am planning to get a stage 3 or stage 4 AVO turbo installed, so obviously quite a lot more power than the standard engine was ever designed to handle and it seems like a few people with 300+ bhp have ended up with con rods smashing through their engines... So I'm trying to find some forged connecting rods to put in before I get the turbo installed.

Can anyone recommend any that I can buy in the UK? I've found a few but I have no idea which are good or bad, and some of them I can't seem to get hold of in the UK anyway.

Also, would you say forged pistons would be necessary too or is that going a bit over the top for 300 - 400 bhp ?

Thanks
Chris

If your going to crack the motor open you might as well do a full build and do the pistons and anything else you might want.

Yeah I probably will get forged pistons too but I've already found some of those. It's the con rods I'm struggling to find in the UK

OK so I emailed Carrillo and they said the following:

"We do have pro-H style connecting rods in stock for this application under part number SB_AFA20_1HS_5090B6W and the cost per set would be $1472.00. Our main distributor in the UK would be Performance Unlimited - http://www.performanceunlimited.co.u...carrillo-rods/ "

You could buy Pauter Machine from the U.S. and deal with import tax (if any). It might work out to be cheaper than the Carrillos.

Yeah clearly it's not meant for NA applications, that would be total overkill. But if you're gonna go the FI way, I reckon it's the best internals kit out there.

I'm thinking Element Tuning might disagree with you.

I ran pretty much all HKS parts on my Evo way back as they were some of the first readily available parts out. While they worked good and the quality was great it wasn't long before better cheaper options became plentiful, i imagine that will be the case here.
