two years with my frs and only 16 662kms how the heck do you drive 100 000 miles every two years ?

It gets better. It's like a two-fiddy motorcycle. It has some limits, but if you learn to drive within or around those limits, it's a freakin' awesome little car. I still think it is an absolute miracle it got built at all. And resist the urge to f-it up with "mods, yo".

If you do get the urge, the best money you can spend is on an OFT*. The gas tunes are very good, but running the thing on E85 is an eye-opener. The first hit is free, as they say.

I too am fighting the urge..I've added the TRD intake which did improve driveability and a KartBoy shifter. I will upgrade the tires Pilot SS and maybe lighter wheels but nothing excessive 17x8. I want to keep the basic character of the car. More horsepower would be nice but that would totally change what this car is.

I never owned one, but I always thought the main point of the MR2 was handling, not power--just like the FR-S. I took a look at wikipedia and the supercharged 1st gen MR2 had 145 hp and did 0-60 in 6.5s. Without FI the 0-60 times were in the mid 8s. The 2nd gen turbo had 200 hp but with the t-top it weighed 2800 lbs, so its power-to-weight was about the same as the FR-S. There were 35 factory-built TRD conversions of the gen 2 with up to 500 hp and 2400 lb--those were monsters. The 3rd gen had 138 hp and 0-60 times 6.8s or slower depending on transmission.
