This thread got more action and questions answered than mine and I was actually taking notes from the advice I was given.

Go figure.. maybe I'm doing it wrong..

Thats probably due to the fact that pretty much noone on here have pieced together their own kit and have needed to purchase their own turbo. While many people do know the differences and could offer some advice. For the most part (in my experience) the majority of turbo's on this platform are all considered relatively small. Spool speed just isnt an issue as all kits that i've seen tend to hit full boost before 5k RPMs. It's really going to be your own personal preference as (from what i can tell) the differences really wont be that major. If you care so much about spool speed, why not just do the research yourself and find out which one hits full boost faster? Question answered.

Turbo selection looks fine imo for 350 fhp. Just get the 0.72 A/R since it's middle of the road.

We can't tell you which one to get, we told you what the A/R means and how it affects performance, you get to decide whats important to you.

Again, perhaps you shouldn't be trying to piece together your own kit if you don't know the very basics of turbos.

Does your budget allow for the Garrett G25 550? That would be the one to get if you can swing it.

i remember seeing this thread when it first started with no comments... I was going to comment but restrained. now i'm just eating popcorn wondering HOW TF is this thread still open?

I bought a JDL kit less than 5k with a gtx2860r. You're going to buy pieces of pipes and hope to the car gods they line up to save a couple hundred bucks? Dude listen to the people in this thread and just buy a premade kit. It's pointless to build your own and piece it all together. If you are doing it for the sake of learning how to weld and fabricate then cool; but realistically if you are not ready for that, just buy a kit and call it a day.

You are telling us that this will be a car that's on the side and that you drive your GTI more; then why do you care so much about the turbo? You're between two turbos apparently and on a budget. buy the cheaper one, slap it on. donezo.
