Three things that Turbo Yoda and I were vigilant about when we started the R&D process were efficiency, throttle response and no hacking - particularly to structures like the front crash beam. That meant no long exhaust manifolds for a high mounted turbo, no long intercooler piping around those structures and definitely no heat exchangers taller than 7" out front.

We'd seen pretty much every other kit available first hand and saw W2A as the only way of eliminating the massive compromises in all those areas that come with A2A on this platform.

There are many turbo kits for these cars that are China specials. The Coyoda turbo systems do not fit into that category.
Hi Tony,

I did a bit of googling and came across someone's instagram:
https://www.instagram.com/turboyodamcm/

And found out the car in the video is up for sale:

Just to confirm with you, this is the BRZ86-Track turbo kit?
If so I'm assuming the 'Track' turbo kits use the Garrett Gen2 GTX3071R??

Still very excited to hear about the progress on this kit!

Does the downpipe connect to the factory over pipe or to the front pipe?

We have two overpipe options. Either connect to 2.5" pipe in factory location, or our own 3" overpipe.

The Australian 86/BRZ Nationals were held over the weekend and the Coyoda Technologies R&D test mule (aka The Donkey) absolutely dominated.

We paused final development on the Tremec TR6060 gearbox conversion, bolted the stock box back in and brought The Donkey down off the hoist to claim a comprehensive victory in the inaugural running of this event.

Note that this 2012 Toyota 86 has an unmodified Coyoda BR86 turbo system, the same as what all customers get. We added one of the optional FP Black turbos, the first time this has been done on a standard unopened engine.

Driver Steve Owen commented on not only how powerful the car was, but also complimented the exceptional throttle response and linear delivery.

The car ran on road legal 200TW tyres as per rules for the Forced Induction Class, but still recorded a fastest lap almost 3 seconds quicker than the fastest Open Class car on unrestricted tyres.

We can put you in touch with engineers. With tighter control over fueling than the cheap kits, no melting engine bays and no need to do things like cut crash beams, that's the least of your worries.

Sorry its been a while for my updates lifes just been very busy!

Car is still running amazing. Trans is happy around the 300rwkw mark so im not building it for now(Tax return could change that!!).

The engine/Turbo kit are going strong!! such a blast of a car to drive and sometimes scary lol!.

Decided I wont be tracking for a bit. But I have been to a few downshift/roll racing kinda days.

[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQWdP7dwUnA&t=307s"]Hi-Octane 21 May 2017 - YouTube[/ame]

Was using different boost levels just testing what the car was actually capable of. And was not 100% on the throttle on 300 rwkw as traction started becomming a big issue even from a 50kmh roll. Started the day on 220 then 260 then 300. So basically the start of the vid is low middle of the video is 260 and last third odd is about 300 but 70-80% throttle depending how my balls were feeling( 100% comming soon!)

Cant be happier with how it performs and still is. Getting some RLCA's over the next few days to try and help with a bit of traction.

How confident are you at this kit being able to pass emissions in NSW. It is near impossible for it to get passed by removing one of the cats. Is there any possibility of adding a second cat?

Near impossible?

People get other FI kits engineered in NSW and frankly, most of them are junk.

Your best bet is to consult with an engineer who has done other turbo BRZs in NSW.

I've just received my kit. Someone asked for some photos pre-assembly. Here are a few.

First impressions are it is all very high quality components. The thing I like about it is the lack of intercooler air pipe. The turbo outlet connects directly into the bottom of the intercooler (about 20mm of hose) and then it's straight into the intake manifold.

I was surprised at the weight of the water-to-air intercooler. It is all billet alloy but still weighs more than I expected - must be a lot of radiator fins in there.

I test drove the car with a very large turbo and found very little in the way of turbo lag. I think the very short air piping has a lot to do with that.

Install is a few weeks away (I'm doing it myself) so will report back.
