Who did the LS2 swap? I'm Interested.
This may or may not be in the correct section, but I figured if ANYONE knew who did the LS2 swap, then it would be the people of this subforum.
As you already know I've got my built motor + turbo ~350whp FR-S, but I'm looking for something more. I want that instant V8 torque (great for drifting). I will probably add a supercharger on top of it. 500whp is the goal. Anyway, does anyone know what shop did it? I think I remember them being in Connecticut. Thanks

You mean the BRZ06 with a non Z06 motor. I believe you are looking for Weapons Grade Performance. You can buy their BRZ06 with no motor or transmission for $32k if you are interested.

But yes it's definitely them. Supposedly they are willing to do this for more cars. I might be interested. Maybe give them my built motor + turbo for like 75% of the final cost or something.

Yep thats Weapons Grade. You can purchase their conversion kit for like 10k I think it was. Then you just need to buy the motor/trans..and its a drop in from there.
I was seriously thinking about it, hell I still am. Probably in the future lol |

If this is true, not worth it. No conversion kit WITHOUT motor/trans should run $10,000. Hell I can put an LS2 in a S2000 or 240 for $6,000 with motor/trans/conversion/labor.

Sorry I lied - its 8k for the complete setup. Base is 3750. http://shop.weaponsgradeperformance....rz-ls-swap-kit EDIT: Its also the only conversion kit on the market, so theres no competition which obviously means no competitive pricing. |

NP. You know never - hit them up. I was really considering going to them not that long ago. They were also looking for a donor to do a 2JZ which I inquired about, but it was just too far out of my price range right now.

I'd be OK with whichever motor weighed less as there is always room for improvement on power.

We just finished our shop car:
[ame]http://youtu.be/ikbniJJppcQ[/ame] It's a much bigger project than you realize and it gets really expensive to do it right. If someone off the street came to me and said "LS swap my FRS/BRZ" it would start around $25,000. You probably just spit out your drink when you read that but let me break that down: $8000 Swap Kit, $8000 (Average) for a low mileage full LS2 Droupout (Engine, trans, ecu, gas pedal, wiring harness, etc.), About $1000 to properly prepare the engine, ie: new head gaskets, new valve cover gaskets, new timing cover gaskets, new oil pan gasket, new timing set, new thermostat, new water pump, etc. You also need a clutch, new trans fluid, and new oil and filter, so there's another $1000. You need around $500 in miscellaneous hoses, clamps, brackets, belts, etc. You're going to need a proper tune which will cost you around $500. Now we're talking $19000 just in parts and that's if you don' want to improve the engine at all. Let me tell you once it's in there, its a bitch to get it back out so if you want to do head work, cam, valve train, etc, you gotta drop that money too, so there's another AT LEAST $1000 if not way more. That plus $5000 labor give or take a week and bam there you have it. |
