Went down to RS-R today to test out the RAN-UP oil additive they make. Write -up here:
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?p=424795 For reference purposes, my car pulled around 169whp with the intake (no tune) on a Dynojet (my car @ Injen = http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11118). The Superflow was showing around 161whp WITH the tune, which has been shown to get around a ~14whp increase on a Dynojet (http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...6&postcount=28) over completely stock. I know these are different dynos/cars and calibrated differently, but this is just for reference purposes. Superflow even has a 'Dynojet correction' reading, which amused me for some reason. Another FR-S with an Apex-i catback exhaust pulled 150whp, for comparison's sake. Basically, my car seems to be showing an increase of around 10% horsepower over stock, which is about what I expected based upon all other tests. Bottom line is I'm very happy with it right now, but am looking forward to eventually being able to put an exhaust on it.

I also installed the Visual Garage roof antenna and JDM clear side markers.
Ignore the goofy guy standing next to the pretty car, but here's what it looks like now: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fb...type=3&theater

I know I haven't written much in awhile. Since the last update, I've put on the Visual Garage antenna (pretty sure I hadn't posted that), the RS*R Sports-i coilovers, and the Injen exhaust (mid-pipe back). The car is so much more fun to drive.
Dropping some XXR 530 18x8.75 and Hankook Ventus V12s on next, then I'm pretty much done with external modifications, for now. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?p=576699 I'll try to do a full write up if I get the time when it's all done.

The Injen intake made a few HP (above nominal variance), but the biggest bump came from the Visconti Stage 1 ECU tune. The exhaust makes a couple, as well. I'm very happy with how the car is driving right now, overall.

You said you did testing for the RK sport hood, did you end up installing it on your car? Also, if you did, pics?

How do you like the shift knob? I have been looking at getting the same one myself. Also which car did you select it for since they do not have the BRZ/FRS as an option from their pull-down menus on their website.
And did I read in one of your earlier posts you went down to Stone Brewery? SO JEALOUS! Amazing beer (Subliminally Self Righteous is one of my favorites). Last edited by zerodark; 12-26-2012 at 04:51 AM. |

Here's what it looked like with the unpainted hood: City mileage is a tad bit worse, but I drive the car pretty hard. Highway mileage is still around 34MPG on cruise @ 75-80ish The biggest change was the tune, and that's still getting tweaked, currently. Quote:
I emailed them directly regarding which option I should choose. Here's my email and their response: Inquiry: Quote:

Thanks! I hope to post some pictures today. New rims and tires, corner balanced, and just got confirmation the ProClip shipped.

Here are a couple shots of the car now. I still need to get some lower rear control arms to adjust the camber.
