He's got enough nos to blow himself up. It has direct port nitrous and a stand-alone engine management system not a bad way to spend 10 Grand kid. If you have to I would buy it and overnight some parts from Japan

Since you seem like a proper fellow who would devote due care and attention to his vehicle, don't go with this one. You've seen it at its worst, and it's always gonna be nagging at the back of your mind that there might be lasting effects of the potential neglect from the previous owner. Better to let someone else who sees it for the first time after it's cleaned up--and falls in love with it instantly--buy it. What they don't know won't hurt 'em...

Only bottled drinks, no cans or cups. I keep a dish towel in case I've got something wet and a microfiber towel to clean the windows or dust the stereo. I may go a bit overboard, but my interior is spotless after a year of ownership. Since I spend more time in the car than outside looking at it, it's worth it to me. And I keep the outside as clean as possible.
Are you... my long-lost twin?

I think you should keep looking around. I bought my limited brz for 21k with 11K miles on it with 100k/10year power train warranty. The car was like new to be honest.

I would pass. Too many red flags and the price is high. For perspective, I paid 24.5K for my FR-S BRAND NEW. I'd find a low mileage, non-modified vehicle if looking at the used market.

Certainly people can put all the stock stuff back on the car, so when buying from a dealership you will never know with 100% certainty if the car was modified or not. So you may want to consider buying from a private seller. When I bought my 350Z way back when they first came out, I bought mine from an older gentleman who had kept the car completely stock and it was immaculate. He was even washing and detailing the car for me when I came to pick it up. Looking at someone's house and garage will tell you a lot about the person. This guy was a perfectionist. Long story short, I got my 350Z with 1,000 miles on the odometer and I paid about 5K less than sticker if I had gone to a dealerhip and bought brand new. This was also when the Zs were hard to find on the dealer lots; the twins are not hard to find now.

Why are you even asking this question.. you said like 3 sentences about the car and there was just red flags everywhere lol.

Run.. run away from this car and never look back. All the tell tale signs of an irresponsible, lazy, stupid, sloppy owner are right in front of you. This car should sell for like 15-16k. I'm equally concerned about the fact that the previous owner traded it in without bothering to clean it, and that the dealership actually let buyers see it like that. You are dealing with a bunch of lazy idiots IMO.

I got a very similar deal on my limited BRZ with warranty and factory upgrades, also like new condition. $20,000 for this car is insane. That must be their high ball sticker price so that they have room to bargain down and make you feel like you're getting it for a steal at 18k.

OP, I would recommend taking your time and searching cars.com and autotrader. Find one that is stock and that the previous owner is selling at low mileage because it was just the wrong car for them. I'd aim for older, professional owners.. the midlife crisis type.. or someone that's having kids and can't keep it. Scrutinize the owner, the dealer, the reason for selling, condition, vehicle history etc. Don't jump the gun and buy some lemon you're going to end up hating.

That's pretty high for a not so great condition FR-S. In that condition, 16-17k would be a bit more reasonable. But with no warranty, dirty with questionable mods? Just buy a brand new one for 5k more, full warranty, no mods, no miles and better interest rates (if financing).

If ~$19,000 is your budget, you can easily find a pre-owned one that is still bone stock for that price and mileage.

Just as a point of referance; before undoing the deal to get my RS1 I had purchased a new 2015 FRS for $23,000.

So you would be looking at 3K more to get a new car...NO BRAINER!!!!! Remember these are sporty cars aimed at young drivers ....chances are they have had a rough life.

Thanks again for all the advice on here. I am actually kind of surprised by some of what I am reading especially considering price. I thought Scion wouldn't negotiate on price. My local Toyota has one for $25,670 and I haven't tried to negotiate because I figured the best I could do was get extra stuff added to the deal but still pay something close to $25.

Is that not the case?

All the used ones I see in my area (Mid-MO) have a price of 19,900 or something like that with 20,000 miles. Some a few more miles some a few less. Even when I look at St. Louis or KC, similar prices. I figure I can talk the used ones down to $18ish maybe even a bit lower if they want a sale bad enough.

But here you guys are talking about getting a brand new one for well under list price. So what gives, does Scion actually negotiate even when they say they don't?

If one Toyota dealership doesn't want to play ball, go to another. If you don't mind a BRZ, talk to @HeubergerMotors. They're a forum sponsor and have helped out a number of people.

If all the used ones in your area are priced the same with the same mileage, then why the F are you even considering the filthy one with the engine grime and pet hair and questionable mods from a questionable dealer. You obviously have options, find a better one.

I looked at a silver 2013 FRS with less than 20k miles that looked like it was literally brand new, and the dealership wouldn't even let me sit in it because it hadn't been processed and cleaned yet. They wanted 17k for it, btw, but I passed because it was an automatic.. and a scion :P

I actually would have bought it on the spot if it were manual.
