Mine has been doing this, does sound like something loose. I mainly notice it while in a drive-through.. you can really hear it echoing off the wall.

^ exactly. I re-read the thread and most are hearing it under load. Like you said mine is doing it just while idling. I parked last night to get a red box movie and let the car run... sounded like crap, vibrating metal. By the time I got to work (20min) it was no longer there.

I just started having this issue also. I hear rattling under load at almost all RPM ranges. It's a harmonic noise. Goes on and off depending on the exhaust vibration. I've been reading around and it seems the be heat shield rattling.

I don't listen to every noise the FRS makes. I figure any noise it makes will be amplified given the fact there's no insulation in the car. I've deduced that this car MAKES NOISE lots of noise. It's what sports cars do, they make noise. I had one irritating noise like a bump thump comming from the back and I could feel it under my seat. Checked everything and finally, the backseats were both lose from their latch. They are lose again but I just ignore it now. Windows down and rock blasting, makes it hard to hear much of anything else.

If it sounds unsettling, it is important, especially when its coming from the engine.

For those who removed the sound tube and placed washers for the bolts on the underpanel, are you still getting this sound?

Does this sound familiar to anyone? My BRZ is in the shop for this. The tech is having a hell of a time trying to find it.
