Beefy? I thought that's what the first B in BBK stood for. Beefy Brake Kit.

Thought i'd share what I found in my local hardware store recently. I haven't used it yet, but got it anyway as it may come in handy.

This should be a perfect solution to anyone who's having difficulty removing the stubborn allen bolts on the caliper when trying to swap bleeders around.

Wanted to have some advised for those who made powdercoat their brembo caliper! Did you split your calipers in two?

Damn, I'll be at Sebring Saturday. Driving the beater for one session than the race car beater. BRZ Garage Queen stays in the garage where it "belongs".

I would not do this. Once these brakes are cast and brought together they form a nice cohesion together. If you have to rebuild them it's at least recommended to recombined the same two halves again.

I have a couple friends that bought reman'd brembos and they don't fit right because the reman company doesn't re-use the same halves.

I tried removing mine, the real problem is they used permanent locktite from the factory. This locktite is harder than the soft metal used for the allen bolt.

I tried on 4 different allen bolts, using heat, pb blaster, etc. The metal is too soft and the locktite is too hard.

So I ended up bleeding the brakes with everything flipped upside down, then flipping it back to normal. Pain in the butt, but better than drilling out allen bolts.

I only have one set and i've double chek, you can't put two halves that wasn't with each others... There is one pair for the right, one for the left. I'm not worried about that.

I wanted some advise regarding the o-ring between the two halves...

If you're going to split them why not replace it? Thats like taking a timing belt off and then reusing it. Works already done, maybe $1-$2 to replace

Nice work. Mine's going in this weekend

What were your initial impressions when you took it for a drive after the installation?

very good initial bite even on cold. never faded through a couple of spirited drives. and better pedal feel also with the SS lines.

PS. make sure to properly bed them pads. most especially the cool down phase.

Would you say it feels like the pedal has a more linear feel throughout braking?
