One or more of the plastic retainers looks like its not seated properly. Pull the panel back and give it a firm push in. Not too hard though you dont want to blow the airbag

Have you been trying to run wires down behind it?

Mine used to do that. I finally figured out how to place and push it so that it stayed in place. How, sorry, I don't remember -

It's totaled. Sorry.
Don't bother trying to sell it. You'll get maybe $50 with a bj on top. Maybe $100 for some booty play but who wants to deal with that?

Then there's option #2
It requires a bit of elbow grease, more like pull out the panel find the plastic clip. Either glue it or replace it.

Option #3
Drive car to dealership, cry about how your car is about to explode, tell them the dude on the internet says that it's going to set off the side airbags and the trajectory of that failed cover is going to cut your balls clean off.

Mine did that but not quite as bad. I also had some rattling wires up in there. I just wiggled the wires around with a piece of coat hanger (battery disconnected!) heated the cover up with a blow drier (wife was pissed I used it) and gently pushed it back into place. Been there about 80.000 miles without issue now.

Doesn't the rubber door seal sit over the pillar cover, kind of holding it in place?

I removed this panel to run the power wire behind it for my radar detector. The panel slips down into place and snaps in on the bottom and top. Pull the panel out on the top and make sure the top and bottom plastic fasteners are aligned and then snap it back in. This may help: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...&postcount=101

Yes, the rubber seal sits over the panel and helps to hold it in place.

As already established, your clip is either not seated properly or broken. I had a similar issue when running my dashcam and aftermarket HU microphone wire through that pillar and had to persuade the clip the seat properly.

If you need a replacement, I believe the part number for the upper clip is: 909150037
