Scion test engineers can't drive (Hyundais)

Yo, I'm new here but I have a funny story and some (really poor) photos to share. I work in Torrance, CA very near the US headquarters of Honda, Toyota/Scion, etc. and there is a particular corner that I've noticed these guys must use to do a little testing, since sometimes I'll see several different makes of cars together taking the corner pretty fast. Occasionally one of the cars will be a new model taped up with black paper. It's pretty cool but I've never paid too much attention.

Anyway, today it had rained for a couple hours but it had stopped, and I was minding my own business when I heard a screech outside and looked out to see that two guys had driven their Hyundai Genesis Coupe up on the sidewalk across the street. I'm not sure how exactly they did it, but they were totally stuck and pushing on it in vain. I thought it was pretty funny and I noticed that one of the guys looked like a Japanese guy in a suit so I figured they belonged to Honda or Toyota and they somehow lost control. A couple minutes later to my surprise a red FR-S pulled up! I figure these guys were Scion engineers testing the competition but lost control. Much later a flatbed tow truck came and took the Hyundai away. It was pretty funny. I'll attach the photos in another post..

That's quite a story!

It's actually pretty cool to see them both together like that in real life. Gives a bit of a perspective on the relative sizes.

Thanks for sharing.

The GenCoupe is definitely a G35 fighter. Just look at it.

Exactly what I was thinking. It definitely doesn't look as fierce as the FRS.

Did you mean G37? Because it would be sad to release a Gen coupe now that competes with a car from the previous generation!

what?
I don't know about you, but I definitely don't find small cars as fierce, yet alone having only 200hp.
Because I can bet you putting side to side on both cars on the street I can tell you that the majority will tell you the genesis is much more aggressive (power and size) than the fr-s. Different class of cars. Your term of "fierce" sounds very vague, I apologize.

G37 isn't even that much sportier then the previous generation. Personally I find G35 much more sportier than the newer generation.

This should end the genesis vs 86 debate....

Clearly the hyundai has mega understeer, lol

Someone should make a caption from the pics and insert clever rips on the hyundai.....

My apologies for being vague, but I said "looks", which is extremely objective. Not saying it's more aggressive or more powerful because we have clearly established that debate over and over on this forum. You own a GC and that is your opinion.

Nice story and pics, but what leads you to believe that the driver in the Hyundai was a Toyota/Honda engineer? Just because a FRS was pictured next to it doesn't really clarify that the other driver was from Toyota.
