Future swap for BRZ?

"Subaru has dropped the first turbocharged variant of its 2.0-liter, FA-series flat-four engine—the naturally aspirated version of which powers the BRZ and its Toyota/Scion brethren—into the refreshed Japanese-market Legacy sedan and wagon."

Repost, check the General Automotive forum.

Quick answer: No, it uses a totally different DI system.
Long answer: Could probably steal the internals and the turbo setup with a rerouted intercooler, but that engine only spins to 6K...probably for a reason.

I imagine the 6k limit is a drivetrain (cvt ftmfl) is the limitation. Although most cvt limits are based off torque, not hp. Also it shouldn't be that low of a redline for being square

I saw an article on this potentially coming to the US Impreza over on AutoBlog. I'm optimistic, at least we know what kind of power can be expected with OEM specs. This car would be awesome with that type of power stock.
