Shifter springs/bushings/shifter performance
I'm looking to amplify my driving experience by changing out a few parts around the shifter and wanted to know others experience with SIMILAR configurations. I've read a lot of individual reviews but want to get a feel for pairing a set of springs/rear bushing and a short shifter together.
Currently looking at: -MTEC shifter springs -Perrin rear shifter bushing -Kartboy short shifter Thanks in advance!!!

I have all three in addition to the Whiteline positive shift kit and the shifting experience improved immensely. Top it off with Motul 300 fluid in the tranny and diff and the shifts are straight buttery now. Shifts during cold mornings have also improved and are a lot less notchy.

I have the MTEC springs, a rear shifter bushing, and the whiteline positive shift kit. And Motul 300 fluid.
The MTEC springs are wonderful! I can't say enough good things about them. They create a stronger return-to-center for your shifter, so now there are defined actions when you shift instead of amorphously going from 2nd to 3rd. Rear shifter bushing and Whiteline trans insert help to better locate everything and keep it from moving around, so that's very helpful. I would also include the rear diff outrigger inserts. The OEM bushings are soft rubber and the diff flops around a lot when you shift or let off the gas sharply. You'll hear a *thump* when this happens. The diff outrigger bushings tighten that down a lot and remove a lot of the slop from the drivetrain. |

I have the TRD "quick shift" kit. USA edition. It chimes with a shift bushing. I quite like it.

Awesome info, so as a whole your driving experience seems to have been positively amplified. I plan on changing the diff/trans fluid ASAP... With only 1000 miles second seems a bit rough of a transition even if rev matched properly.

300. 300LS isn't good for the transmission, and 300 is fine for the diff. From what I understand, 300LS is for clutch-type limited slips, which we don't have. So there's no real benefit. @AZP Installs had a deal for four quarts of 300, which is enough for both.

There is a little gear whine from all the stiffer bushings. You can only hear it if you're coasting in 1st or 2nd though.

I have the exact combination as the OP with Pentosin as the fluid. Do it. Works awesome together.

It's what in research looked to work but hadn't found a review and I don't like buying parts without knowing they compliment each other

I just install the TRD quickshifter a week ago and like it a lot. The throws are quite short but take a bit more effort than stock to get into gear. I may also put in the mtec springs at some point in the future since they seem to be universally liked.
