I think you guys might be getting your wish with the strictly 6MT thing..
Maybe it's for the best, it will help give this thing a "true sports car" image..
Not sure I care about the car's "image" but...
Well, that last interview hinted at 6mt only, so..

That means the car will be getting less profits, which means this car will be scrapped.
There is NO WAY toyota won't offer an auto. They like money too much.

Edit: (And I'll be happy if it has an auto in it. I won't buy it, but others will. If this car fails, Toyota will say "Hmm. Maybe there really isn't a market for a small, affordable, modifiable, RWD sports car." I don't want them to say that.)

are you forgeting Toyota has like a butt load of money selling camrys and corollas?

If Honda has kept the S2000 running for 10+ years, I'm sure toyota can easily pull it off.

Toyota has smarter accountants.

Hello guys i live in brooklyn,NY

I have a question or maybe 2. (or 3)

Should i get the manual or auto?

Will it be difficult to drive a manual in the city?

Will the car be noob friendly? ( I dont drive manual..i drive FWD auto)

( i did drive manual right hand drive in another country..only stalled once)

And dont hate... i play gt5 with a g27 set up...all manual

Well if you want a sports car experience/feel I'd get the manual. But really whatever you feel most comfortable with. I live near Seattle and my car is a manual, after a while it just becomes second nature to drive a manual. I'd take a manual over auto any day

What's Brooklyn like for having hills? If there are a lot it could be a bit of a baptism by fire to learn in a hilly area. If not, shouldn't take more than a week to get used to it (and a few hours with a good/patient teacher).

I think the car will be pretty noob friendly.

And what I mean by living by seattle is there are some crazy hills, the city basically shuts down if it snows or gets icy, but driving a stick becomes second nature like I said. Lots of fun

< Northern BC (North of Seattle)

Hills and snow are everyday occurrences (snow after Oct lasting till around April)

We don't shut down, we just use purpose built winter tires I figured out standard pretty quick living in this climate. Started driving stick in August 07, drove my first winter with All Season tires (worst idea ever by the way) and when my second winter came I had enough for good winter tires and driving was so much better, not to mention a lot safer!

Ya, since you guys get it all the time you're used to driving in it. As soon as a snowflake falls here people automatically forget how to drive (rain too most if the time). And on top of that they make a mad dash to the grocery store to stock up on supplies becase they are gonna get snowed in for a month. Lol I wish I was exaggerating but I'm not, its ridiculous

I think, most of the state that snow is in same, cuz it sure is same here. Specially those SUV drivers (& talkin' on their phone) think cuz they have SUV 4wd so they won't slide or something. Next thing you know... Bang! crash that SUV.

It's not the car. It's the driver make the difference...
