Of course it makes more power on that dyno...it's going downhill on that thing! Get it level and it'll drop about 8.3%.
Looks good guys...glad to see some of these early pioneers doing all the legwork that others will surely benefit from. |

bat-outta-hell
that car is out of hand...
***In regards to the stock internal parts. I talked with a tech at the Subaru dealership, he claims that the transmission is only designed to handle a 10% increase in torque. Everything was built with weight in mind and apparently the gearing in the MT is made of lightweight materials. They said they had the same issue with the WRX STI's when people started upgrading them, they were burning through their trannies and differentials.. I did some further snooping around trying to confirm or reject his comments, and it appears that TRD will be releasing a beefier transmission to handle additional torque to go in conjunction with all of the performance upgrades they'll be releasing. I guess time will tell, maybe sooner with that monster turbo. |

This. The STI 6MT is a VERY robust transmission. That said, doing dumb shit with a lot of power on any AWD transmission will blow SOMETHING up. I think the most common thing STI guys go though are shift forks. |
