I don' have the head unit anymore
I know this is an optional connector.. must be some kind of standard. I have the wiring diagram and they name each connector very well, but they don't mention their universal shape name which makes it impossible to know where to buy these.

I used it to power my backup camera via 96svx's harness. It was pretty convenient to just plug right into that instead of having to splice wires and find a good switched source someplace.

There are two of those 6 Prong plugs in my BRZ. One of them had speaker connections, the other sits by itself in the back that sits disconnected. Holding that one toward you, the upper left is a +12v, the one below that is +12v ACC, the upper right is the common (ground) and there are two others I believe that are Canbus.

If that plug has can-bus high and can-bus low as well as switched power and ground you can use it to run gauges like this http://www.speedhut.com/gauges/Freedom-CAN-BUS/36:5
If I'm not mistaken I'm pretty sure I seen a TRD gauge option that probably uses that plug. Edit: I just thought about it but they make a DIY arduino board you can put together that turns the can signal into a USB out, im sure you could get it to connect to a carputer or something and then run a virtual gauge. idk how good the refresh rate would be though. |
