Subscribed to here any further data regarding engine bay temps. Turbochargers can dramatically increase engine bay temps. I like to see if there are any adverse effects on due to the front mounted location.
efficiency huh? the most efficient way to oil a turbo is if it's straight.
what do you prefer a crooked one that meets the needs of the airflow of the freaking intake by and insignificant amount or keeping straight to ensure the best oil flow on the turbo?
The 5-10 or so degrees it would take to fix the angle wouldn't change ANYTHING in terms of performance. It's just the tube for the air filter.

Full Blown's turbo setup isn't angled though and it's in the same spot. They went the opposite direction with their charge piping, allowing more room and clearance to position the turbo parallel.

Yes. Efficiency. The positioning on this kit looks like its around the 15* mark. I don't see that is a real detriment to turbocharger longevity.

IMO, the only reason to mount the turbo with the shaft parallel to the ground is aesthetic. And again, IMO, that's a compromise.

Plus, as John already pointed out, it looks badass.

I suspect there will be more issues with the elevated engine bay temps..

guys, i'm still trying to dig up that article. the turbo can be straight also. but it goes about saying that too much angle is bad.

There's a garrett writeup that says their turbos are fine at an angle. it warns against angles of more than 33. I posted a link to it a little while back. This is an old argument, and angled turbos are nothing new.

Angle on turbo is nothing compared to g forces.

1g of accel = 45deg. Be it lateral or longitudinal.

So much for being a wanker arguing about little angles.

So the AT seems to be holding up well. No known issues as of yet?

Do you really know how a turbos internal oiling system works?? Have you ever designed a turbo kit? Have you ever been to any turbo manufacturing training courses explaining their engineering / design process?
The turbo is angled 8 degrees for a couple of different reasons that I wont get into because you still wont like it anyway.

Obviously you don't like our design and you have made that very clear on multiple occasions, thank you for your concerns but we designed this kit with certain benefits in mind and having the turbo sit on a 8 degree angle is one of them.
Every kit we have designed for the past 7 years from our 2 record setting 8 second dragcars to our TA/AutoX dominating customer 100+ turbo'd Subarus have the turbo angled 8 degrees, why because it works.

Heck the worlds fastest BRZ by Accelerated performance (which we really respect) has the turbo at a 5 degree angle facing forward, is that wrong too?

Its not in the same spot! its 8 inches to the driverside. More room maybe? I sure would hate to be that nice cold air in that charge pipe that now travels right above that really hot downpipe right below it!

I wasn't meaning "exactly" in the same spot. Exhaust wrap for the charge pipe, perhaps.

I do have some questions regarding the Auto trans.

What can you tell us as far as the behavior of the auto trans when shifting with the paddles in manual mode vs letting it shift by itself. Does it handle the new power ok if you leave it shifting by itself?

Also....1/4 mile run at the end...What's with the No Time posted?

Looks like a lot of fun. Is that the iconic Subaru boxer rumble at the end of the 1/4 run?

P&L, I would still like to hear from the manufacturer (you) about your thought (and potentially concerns) regarding the turbocharger's location, considering the immense amount of heat it brings to engine bays. Thanks.
