What was your deciding factor?

So I'm getting really close to getting an frs, doing more test drives this weekend, there are so many things that I love about it, but there's a some I dislike too.
I want to get everyone's opinion.

What was the biggest thing that made you decide to get a frs/brz/86

It was fun and it looks great. I saw it on the lot, pulled in, drove it once, and left with a new one about four hours later. Over a year later, I still love driving my car.

What things do you dislike? It may be that they're easily fixable.

Most of the things I dislike are fixable. (Some cosmetic things)

I know I loved it when I drove it but I just can't make a 24k impulse buy. :P I was only able to drive AT though. I hope I can drive MT this time

It was definitely an impulse buy, but for me it was a good one. I absolutely hated the car I was driving at the time (2006 Elantra). There was nothing wrong with it at all; it was just deadly boring. My stepdaughter's car had just shit itself, so she got the Elantra and I got the new toy. I don't need more space or cargo capacity except for very rarely, and I DO need something entertaining, so it's a good fit for my life.

Fun, stylish, great ride, and the clincher was rear seats that fold down.

The rear seat thing is a must for me. If I can't carry two sets of golf clubs it would have been a no-go.

It has more room than a Miata, the body lines look great, and it's built by two of my favorite motor companies.

lol, ask the church choir what they like about God

The tipping point for me was the lack of competition in the Cheap, RWD, Good Looking, Awesome market segment.

Like, LucidMonentum .... I came from an 06 miata and was looking for a bit more room.

In addition, we tired of the "top down" experience (88,000 touring miles) in 8 years ...... at age 65+, does take it's toll. Read, mrs humfrz tired of getting blown around ..... and I didn't know when to put the top up. Sort of like the frog in a pan of water when someone slowly turns the heat up ....

Plus the FR-S has a spare tire and a small back seat, for my favorites .....

PS - wanna see more pictures of my granddaughters ..... ??????????

My 71 vintage racecar is a 2.0L 4 cyl boxer engine.

So it just seems like I needed to have a 2.0L 4 cyl boxer engine with 45 year newer technology.

Practicality

Feeling it corner incredibly competently out of the box due to the above factors.

There isn't a new car on the market that does all of that for less than $50k.

Even they don't have any leg room, and they're in car seats!

To me, it was between this and a 370Z. I'd had Z's before, and to be honest, my 280zx that had new suspension, built engine, etc is still my favorite car I've ever owned.

But initially I was looking at the frs and it handled like it was on rails, looked great, good value, and everything about the car felt great. I was even satisfied with the power. What I didn't like was the scion badge (being honest.... Would have badged it toyota), the torque dip, and the pure price BS.

The 370 I drove afterwards felt relatively numb and large "feeling" in comparison. It had a lot more balls, but i hated the clutch feel as well. Plus with my commute (140 miles a day, soon to be 10!) I didn't want to live with 22mpg. Plus the rear space in the 86 meant it could carry babies/small children around in the not so terribly distant future.

What swayed me to Subaru was they were willing to deal on prices. I got a 2015 brz ltd 6mt in white, for the exact same price as what most dealers are asking for the scion.

Sorry for the text wall, figured if anyone was in a similar situation it may help!
