you read a well thought out response and looked for the 1 thing that "might" be something you can leverage as a troll... visit the honda and toyota forums... 10k rpms isn't unheard of or very expensive to do, there were at least 30+ celica members that pushed those types of rpms.

You're just like the people who said the stock block wouldn't hold more than 500whp boosted, at any point... people like you have no sense of imagination...

10k rpms 2zz-ge engine, took me 10 seconds to find a video...

Just saw your tag.

10K in a 2ZZ requires the following to happen:

Valves, springs, oil pump, EMS

It requires the following to be worth doing:

Ported head, cams, our intake manifold, very free flowing header and exhaust, high compression pistons

Its not inexpensive to do in a way that actually produces power, but it can be done without breaking the bank. There is just no reason without all the breather mods.

i was running many more mods than that, i posted t hat elsewhere in a different thread, also you forgot an upgraded oil pump because the stock one liked to explode at those rpms

hydra EMS, lotus injectors, DDPreformance Intake Manifold, PPE 4-1 headers, TRD Katsuma , custom 1 run 13:1 mahle pistons, apr headbolts, lightweight flywheel(dunno which one), TRD grey japan 6 pluck racing clutch, Tundra throttle body, Ported heads, Nitrate coated piper stage 3 cams, circuitworx oil pump, ferra valves/springs/retainers yeah then returned the car to stock, sold the aftermarket parts for a down payment on my frs lol....

sorry i went off topic guys

There are probably more than 30 2ZZ running 10k rpms. Thanks Lotus crew and other companies that used this engine as a base for their kit cars.

I do not know why someone is doubting this so much. K20 can get near that number can't they? The original GTS corolla was running 9,500 for a lot of people too. Now the F20 is running into the 9,200-9,500 range. Why yall doubting the possiblities? You should say

X,XXX RPM is my goal and work to get there instead of just saying it is impossible for one person or another to achieve that goal. Also, someone mentioned 4-5k in engine mods. That is not breaking the bank, that is playing in the sandbox.
