Rather take a standard used Twin and add better tires and brake pads...

I feel the same way. Barring any reliability issues, that's a mean little car. Of course not as balanced as ours though lol

I mean it is, but it's only 120-140 lb lighter than the V6. By all accounts that 4 banger turbo engine sucks, and is not befitting of anything sporting. Picking the V6 instead is a no brainer.

I like Toyota products because I've had good luck with their dealerships. I just like the way the big 3 have become less conservative with their enthusiast products. Gt86 while nice, is plain Jane performance wise.

I think either the turbomaro or V6 with 1LE suspension will end up being great value track cars once the used market comes down in price, since everyone will want the V8 anyway. Tough part will be finding a manual of either with 1LE though. Trading the FR-S for a V6 1LE has certainly crossed my mind more than once.

Ooofff, the v6 is definitely a thinker. Between a turbo 4 and a v6 Camaro I would personally take the turbo 4 10 out of 10 times.

It's easy to make more power and lighter. 400 is incredibly easy to get to. Much more after that and it seems like more is involved.

Idk about option packages or what not with the turbo 4 though....

The v6 is like settling when you really wanted an ss.

Yeah it's pretty great how performance friendly the Big 3 have become. Power to the people might as well be their motto, lol.

I'm fairly certain the 1LE package is only available with the manual transmission (ZL1 model being the exception). Though I could be wrong.

I mean it depends what you want. The turbo 4 sounds like ass and falls flat on it's face above 5000 rpm. There's little joy in that, for me at least. If I had a Camaro I would track it and I'd prefer the reliability of a naturally aspirated V6 over a 2.0 liter 4 boosted to well over it's factory rating. For someone that has no intention of tracking....I'd go with the V8. Used if necessary.

Basically, forget the 4 lol

I mean the v6 sounds like ass too. At least you get cool turbo noises with the 4 cylinder. They definitely dont fall flat on their face after a few mods either. The turbo 4 is definitely the "cool" one out of the two options IMO.

I'd go with the v8 or turbo 4 if I had an intention of driving a Camaro, the v6 can stay far, far away from any performance event.

In general I'd agree, however in reviews all the journalists seemed to really enjoy the exhaust note of the Camaro V6, even moreso when compared to the Ecoboost Mustang. I've watched videos of it. It actually does sound pretty good.

Eh.... hear a stock one in real life. Sounds like rattling cans at the back or when someone takes off at WOT. At partial throttle it's not horrible, just sounds like a pedestrian v6.

I thought the EcoBoost mustang was a turbo 4..... Did they update it in the last couple years to their v6 and drop the na v6?

Supposed you need the $895 optional exhaust for it to sound great.

No, you are correct the Mustang Ecoboost is the 4 cylinder. When Ford introduced the Ecoboost it was the mid-level option, with the NA V6 below it and V8 above it. When Chevy introduced the 4 cylinder, it was (and is) the lowest option, below the V6 and V8. It competed with the V6 Mustang, and the V6 Camaro competes with the 4 cylinder Mustang. Ford no longer offers the V6, and in it's last year of production (2017) it wasn't available with any performance options.

Confused yet? LOL.

That's what I thought. When you compared the EcoBoost to the v6 camaros exhaust I was like....waitaminute. You were comparing trim levels not same/same motor type.
