Also I'm running the Stage 2 UEL 91 tune that I downloaded from February, not the recent one.
Fyi not all chevron are top tier fuel like any other station. Download gas buddy from the app store, you can see which are top tier. Then you can narrow down the top tier stations that have the better fuel. Even the top tier ones can have not so good quality I have found =/ hate how they took away 93 gas >.<

Yeah when I started using Chevron and my crickets went away I thought that was the best... but now that I put shell my car feels a bit different, like a better feeling. Butt dyno says its good lol. Crickets came back with shell though but I guess hearing them is a good sign!

From what I read from some posts here, I get a sense that even the minimum 91 octane could contribute to knock (or just won't cut it) in those living in areas where the temperature is higher than the normal condition which this tune was made for.

Would this mean the only safe bet would be to use fuel that is 93 or above?

What kind of gas mileage are you guys getting with this tune? After running it for a couple of weeks I'm averaging around 23 mpg. Where I live 93 is about $1 more per gallon than E85, so I'll be going back to the E85 tune soon. This does seem like a very solid tune though for running 93.

Just wondering but aren't they located in CA (Shiv/Openflash)? I get what you are saying because im in Vegas and I guess I have to accept the fact that my car will run shitty regardless because of our temps and poor gas quality. But if Shiv is in CA then I would think the OTS tunes were tested and tuned there aswell. Hope shiv can give us a lil bit info regarding the conditions in which they were made for all his OTS tunes.

The tune was tested by various volunteers in different parts of North America. I would assume CA would have been part of that test.

Summer is coming up and the temperature is getting hotter everywhere. People are going to take their cars out to nice drives on highways, roads, and hilly areas. I am curious to know how well the tune can perform in those conditions or how well can your local pump gas handle the tune in those conditions....

For those that were running the "old" stage 2 91/93 and are now running the later one, did you feel a difference that makes it worthwhile? My car runs great on the current one, trying to decide if I should pull the trigger on this.

There's no harm in trying, you can flash right back if you dont think it's worth it.

I think its worth it, you get a better throttle response right off the flash i find, more power in gears 1-4 and you can still feel it in 5/6 as well.

My UEL header sound better, more of a rumble and the set up is overall more aggressive.

I thought about flashing back, but i really have no reason to. Fuel economy is basically the same for a daily driver, and you love your car that much more. Just gotta data log every once in a while and check knocking. In some of my newest logs i have knock correction spike to -1.6 in random times. Im guessing its just a gas quality thing cause nothing else spiked

Over all worth it, if u dont like it, flash back

That's the thing, is something I may not or hardly even notice worth having to nurse the tune with logging every X weeks and having to be more concerned about gas quality? My engine feels super peppy and powerful as it is, and it runs healthy. Idk, I'll sleep on it I guess.
