At this point looking at the STI concepts is blue balling yourself.

this thread should be stopped here. there is nothing more true than your comment. Lock this sucker up and let's move on.

They had an STI concept in 2012.......... THEY ALWAYS have an STI concept of every car. I think they had an STI forester.

NOthing is worse however, than Toyota slapping TRD on everything. You could get a 180 hp light duty pickup and it would have TRD on it.

I am sure the engineers and mechanics and computer programmers at Toyota Racing Development spent 100's of hours designing your $19,000 dollar bench cloth seated no options pick up.

I'll take everything in that interior except the black wheels, faux carbon fibre and piano black trim. That shit is hideous and impossible to keep clean. What's wrong with some nice matte, textured soft touch plastic or alcantara paneling?

Edit: It also seems weird that the BRZ gets an alcantara wrap over the instrument cluster and on the dash while the STI gets hard plastic.

I don't really find much about the car in the video at the top impressive. It looks like the 2017 model with all of the STI Accessories. With some very slight differences buying a 2017, getting some STI items and badges and swapping a very few pieces that is essentially all you need. I can't tell from the video but there's nothing saying there is any performance differences so what exactly is Subaru even offering with a "STI Concept" model? It doesn't look like a concept it looks like what we already have but maybe I'm not seeing something everyone else is.

No, you're absolutely right, but I do like some of the trim pieces quite a lot. My hope is they come out with it and I can just pick up some of the nicer pieces like the front grill and such.

Lol this STI concept is pretty much the same as the '17 BRZs. Assuming it would fit in the '17 front bumpers, the only thing I want from this concept car is that front STI badge; since I heard from somewhere in the forum that the STI Front grille emblem from the BRZ tS won't fit in the new '17 BRZ front bumper.

I wouldn't mind the STI grille emblem for my '17 as well or even the lower grilles where the fog lights are located.

There are purists in all communities where enthusiasts are also involved and that's just what happens. People like what they like and all that. I don't care much about the STI badging/lettering myself and it could be just that I don't feel I need to associate with the brand. I was never the kid wearing the Nikes and a Nike shirt. It's OK to pay homage to a brand but I never have liked wearing brands to begin with. I might leave the Subi logos and BRZ on my car but the less emblems and letters I see the more I like that style. We most likely aren't going to get a STI BRZ just like there was no chance in me ever getting a Mugen Prelude. Shift knobs, pedals, at best some exhaust or shocks but every bit of that is just...meh. This is just me guys, again everyone does their own thing. Sorry for running on, if it seems I keep coming back to the issue it's because I want their to be a STI BRZ LOL! MOAR MMPHF
