I have been placing jacks at the seam on various cars for years. The seams are designed to take the load of the vehicle.

I'm biting the bullet and making my own too. Any idea what material was used as backing there?

Dimensions

@Augora asked about dimensions.

I sold my BRZ; glad this was useful to someone!

(woah, those look huge. sorry.)

@blalor forgot the depth of the hockey puck itself.

I'm going to be making one myself soon. Is this hockey puck deep enough? Bought it in an amazon 4-pack:

Since he hasn't been here in two years he probably isn't going to answer.
The official height of a puck is 1" so assuming he also used an official puck (doubt there are many in other sizes) you should be good.

Standard 1" puck, with a 3/4" deep groove milled in them, is what I use. The pinch weld seam will compress the remaining 1/4" of puck some, and they sit fine. I did not use a backing plate...I actually have to stack two of them, due to the deep saddle on my jack.

I might just get a ZL1addons magpad. Stacking pucks sounds dangerous.

Also question.. If I use this point to jack up from, where do I put my jack then?

As stated, just using the pinch weld is fine..

However, make sure the groove isn't deep enough that you are resting on the rockers and the floor pan. (Because, well, that wouldn't be that great of a solution.)
