Typically when at work I'll reverse into the spot... Oh and "the spot" is usually in one of the corners of the lot as far away from the sardine packed SUV drivers as I can get.

I'll walk the extra 5 minutes for the comfort of knowing that I'm not going to come back to my car with fresh door dings and / or scratches...

I reverse into spots. I either park near a wall so I can park as far away from the person next to me as possible or I park so far back in the lot that it doesn't matter how I park.

Well now Jess. This makes sense with mini vans, pickup trucks and many cars with a cab forward design. It is actually the reverse with the Twins. To pull out forward there is far more car that you are exposing before you can see then if you back out. The seating position puts the whole front bumper, hood and half of the cabin into traffic before you can see. Backing out gives just the trunk and the back seat.
Not saying there is anything wrong with backing in (and do it myself) just pointing out the design difference.

I park at the end of a lot with a curb on one side and then park closer to the curb.

That way if somebody decides they want to park next to me, they'd have to park super fucked up and swig the door wide open to even have a chance of hitting mine.

I park so fucking far from curbs now its unbelievable, used to park right up to the edge but now with the lowered car and CF lip I am so scarred I park way back, I also seem to like to park with a small slant(mine will vary depending on what side I was coming into the spot)

I learned the perils of parking a lowered car beside a curb back with my first Lancer. Opened the door fine, sat down and tried to close the door. Gouged the crap out of the bottom of it when it traveled about 10 inches then hit the curb. No curb parking for me now if I can avoid it (unless it is a door with away that is).

Yeah I wedged my lexus door on curb at least 2 or three times like that, luckily there was enough pressure on my door to keep it stuck there so I didn't massacre the bottom so much
