You may be able to contact works directly and get it replaced or faxed. I have no clue how the response will be, but it's worth a shot.

Ditto on this, you should talk to Works about it. Unless it was explicitly sold to you as some kind of prototype or whatnot, it should come with some kind of warranty from the manufacturer.

It’s very unfortunate that the OP and so many others have had bad experiences with JR as a vendor, and the frustration is understandable. One hopes that he’s able to take care of his obligations and learn from this experience, and that his customers are made whole through whatever means necessary.

At the same time, I really want to encourage folks to consider what he has contributed to our NorCal community in his participation in organizing past meets that so many of us have enjoyed. I would hate for this animosity to carry over to the point where we could not all drive together and appreciate one another's company in the future. Here’s hoping for a positive resolution on all sides.

I've seen his event posts... I wonder if his intentions were to make profit out of those too or if he's genuinely there to help put a great meet as a club member... Makes me wonder.

I care little about the NorCal community, no offense. I care more about receiving the products I pay for.

I'm cynical so I agree with you. Money talks. Bad business practices should never be condoned.

It's unfortunate that he is doing shady things. I and a few friends were interested in getting our hands on the turbo kit he is testing for WORKS. He was always pretty good about responding to my questions, until he started changing the release dates and pricing, and then I heard other peoples experiences with him that were very poor.

As far as banning small vendors, please don't Just because some guys got overwhelmed and made poor decisions, it shouldn't mean us honest guys should get hurt. I work my butt off 7 days a week, with two jobs and advertise on these forums because there is an awesome community here(with some bad apples) and they deserve good deals and great service!

Doesn't sound like they will but I will second the small vendor side of this. I for one am supportive of small businesses on forums as this is where many can get their start (like yourself). You are an enthusiast with a skill set that you are using to help a community while helping build a name for yourself. Nothing wrong with that. With great mods like Dave-ROR and support from Hachi who is more than willing to listen it appears I don't think the site will severely suffer. There are always going to be a few bad apples, but we can't go cutting down every tree because of it.

Do research. Ask for feedback. If there isn't a lot spend some time talking to them and pay by CC so you have recourse. If you are that worried wait for others to try them out. There will always be some. I am sorry to those that have been burned as I have been in your position (not with 86 Industries or even on this site), but let's not go stopping entrepreneurs. Just monitor it.
