Thanks guys. Hopefully it stays dry today... Looks 50/50.

I'm on 225s.

I agree the MCS price is tough to swallow. I bought them used from someone getting out of C Street. I ran Konis on my ESP Camaro for the past few years. My main motivation to pull the trigger on expensive dampers was to learn how to tune with a more adjustable damper on the FRS. Right now they are in the base MCS setting.

Congrats on the runs in the car yesterday.

Did you buy Trevor's set? I converted my old MCS CS setup to an STX setup recently. So they don't have an issue being lowered an inch (about how much the TRD springs lower the car) if you go that route. Suspension travel in front isn't a ton though. I've never run mine with bumpstops.

With the MCS compression on full stiff it's like running on 800lb springs already. I've mainly run mine at 3-5 compression, 5-8 rebound for autocross depending on how bumpy the surface is. I run the reservoirs at 150psi right now, I tried running them at 200 or so at one point but it jacks the car way up.

Looking at the results looks like folks are dealing with drying conditions, people dropping 2+ seconds each run..

Dave, congrats on the win.

Judging by the leaps people were making in time, I'm assuming the course was drying as the heat went on. Those who were there-- was the course dry by the last runs?

So TRD springs on a BRZ won't bump out of CS right?

They will bump a BRZ out of CS into STX, but the US TRD spring kit and sway bar kit are legal on the FRS because they are "port options".

I know, it's no longer a level playing field for those with a BRZ, but I'm not going to complain until I see some results where TRD-equipped FRS are consistently running faster times than BRZ/FRS with stock springs. I'm sure they may feel better, but I'm not interested too much in subjective results.

Well that sucks. I thought they won't bump it out. Since they're "twins"

I ran in the first heat, 16 STX. by the end of the first heat the course was already drying pretty decently. The third runs of the second heat were pretty much dry, their were a few spots of standing water still, but probably >75% of the course was dry.

The last third of the course was very wet and slick b/c of the algae buildup. Basically the course never dried and got faster all day long but by decreasing amounts for each run. Biggest difference was from 1st to 2nd heat, but there was still some standing water and slick conditions for 3rd run 4th heat. It was pretty much a 3rd run battle for every class today which at least made it exciting.

Thanks for the damper tips. Yes I bought Trevor's set. I have not done any damper tuning yet b/c I know it will need to change with the increased roll rate from the TRD parts. This was my first event in the car other than a tire/arb test last weekend so much to learn with more seat time.

My 3rd run was 4 seconds faster so yes track was drying fast but the last 3rd was still really slick. It's never fun in those conditions unless you are the last car out with the best track conditions.

Oh well, it was still a really fun weekend. Those RX8's are pretty quick!
