Coffee, my love, why have you turned on me???

Apparently I can't stomach regular dark roast coffee's anymore...which is not good when I work boring ass 12 hour shifts sitting at a desk. Anyone have any experience with the new "stomach sensitive" coffees out now? I think Folgers has one...not sure of any others. Sure wish someone would come out with a low acid coffee in K-cups...

Don't do Folgers for the love of god!

Stick with a good Arabica bean. If the brew is too strong, add hot water AFTER its been brewed.

It's not really that it's too strong, it's just the acidity...I guess. I've been a coffee drinker for 30 years and it's only recently that it's been tearing the ass outta me. I can usually drink coffee that would strip the paint off the walls, but I guess I'm just gettin' old...gotta do something. I can't spend 4 hours of my 12 hour watch on the can...

I heard "cold brewed" coffee is much lower in acidity...may have to try that....

Certain coffee drinks from different coffee shops can upset my stomach and leave it feeling crappy all day. I can't figure out what it is or why though. The worst one seems to be anything I get from the coffee shop on the first level of the building I work in, but Bruegger's coffee doesn't seem to affect me. I can also drink all I want of the stuff we've got at home without a problem.

Organic coffee is what you need. Trying getting a bag of Caf and a bag of Decaf. Brew a pot half/half (the caffeine can be the big offender) and trying using a stomach friendly creamer like FlaxSeed Milk, Coconut milk or Almond milk. Also no sugar. If you must sweeten try Agave Syrup.

Organics bullshit, i'd bet my right nut on it.

Its the substance in the coffee, not the bean it self. Try different milks, sugars and so forth.

There is no certain answer to your problem.

I've been looking into this...I'm pretty sure it's the acidity. Even if I drink it black...it ends badly. It's like David Duke and Louis Farrakhan are fighting it out down there.*

*hat tip to Seinfeld...

The half and half is not really an option at work...only have a Keurig machine. I suppose I could get one of the reusable K-cup pods and try some mixes? Thanks for the tip.

Perhaps its not the coffee but the stomach flu?

how do you brew your coffee?

is your pot clean? is the boiling chamber clean? is filter area clean?

is the water clean? Do you just use tap? What kind of building are you in?

is your cup clean, how do you clean your cup? Do you use those Styrofoam cups? Do you rinse it before use?

are you sure you haven't developed a dairy allergy instead of a coffee sensitivity?

buddy of mine (32 years old) just developed a milk allergy in the last 6 months and cant have any dairy at all anymore, even just a splash in coffee sends him running for the toilet.
