Oh my, what a bunch of huddled masses -

I don't like to bring up my ancestorial royalty, but in this case of discussing magnesium, I feel I must.

You see, my education as a chemist came about because of a long line of royal scientists. It started with my family back in England. Magnesium, the metal itself, was first isolated by Sir Humphry Davy in England in 1808.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humphry_Davy

Yes, I came from a long line of handsome devils. -

So, peons, just bow out.

Tomorrow’s my last day of working for my current company.

Hasn’t felt real yet but I’m sure once I turn in the computer and security badge it will.

Not sure how to feel. Probably a good mix of: relief, pride, sadness, and excitement.

@humfrz can you stop taking naps mid type? Holding the keys down endlessly mid post keeps crashing the website I think

Now, who can tell what these are?

It's a drisc brake, combination of disc and drum. I would have called it a dum brake. It's Canadian also. Just saying.

Sorry. I never know when a sleep spell will come over me. I'm just typing and the next thing I know is that I'm raising my head off the back of my high-backed chair and my vision is just clearing up and I see the monitor.

Really!

Homeowners tip:

If you have an electrostatic air filter in you HVAC system, NEVER put the core in a dishwasher to clean it.

How do I know this? You guessed it. I spent a good hour hand cleaning the inside of my dishwasher after pulling that little stunt.

Apparently, the carbon particles that were electrostatically bonded to the core were transferred and bonded to the insides of the dishwasher and had to be physically removed.

There are so many advantages to being a bachelor.

My nice teak dining room table that would be great for dinner parties? Naw, it's better as temporary storage for a full cat-back exhaust!

The saga of new job continues...

New company is trying to carry out a background check but current job hasn’t responded to the third party company conducting it. New job HR emailed me and asked wtf was going on, and asked for an employment verification letter instead. I said I had no clue what was happening and offered a letter I have on hand from October of 2019 in the mean time.

Got in touch with my company and they said that they’ve been trying to contact the background check people. So I asked for an employment verification letter and they said that they’d call the background check company again.

What a ride.
