Custom S/C pulley
LSA Dual Belt and Belt Tensioner Setup
Custom Dry Sump Oil Setup
Custom Large Crank Pulley
Custom Larger Alternator Pulley
Harrop's Custom port and polished Throttle Body
The Custom K&N Cold Air Intake.
Custom Catch Can

I do believe the cams they are running are the HKS V but, I haven't been able to confirm it. Nor the exact compression ratio as they cannot remember which thickness of HKS gasket was used. They are running the High-Compression version of the 2.1l capacity kit though.

The flex fuel kit is also available but, presently only sold on the site included with their Stage 5 kit. Along with their spec'd 4 into1 headers and full X-Force catback exhaust system. (Stage 4+)

As far as TB, Grams has a reasonably priced upgrade. (Compared to the $1500 Cuso option.) No clue on it it will fit though.

What about their boost controller? I’m curious if they are doing boost by gear or anything to tame the beast?

Having mine installed at Harrop HQ next week from 14th to 16th. Looking fwd to it and am hopefully prepared for the extra umph with new HD clutch, thrust bearing, and pilot bearing. Only thing I didn’t do, due to time constraints, was the clutch fork and pivot. Will have them here shortly just in case. Considering the oil cooler due to Australian summers but not being a Thermo controlled version I’m not sure it’s a good move given the very low kms, 10kms per day at best most weeks, I do in a week let alone a day. While being Harrop quality they’re also shitfully expensive..

Hi guys,

Couple of questions:
1- Is anyone running this kit on 91 octane / 95RON fuel?

2- have anyone installed it on an AT GT86?

Thanks in advance for your input.

1- Yes, I have run it on 91 octane with the 95 and 85mm (8psi and 12psi) pulley, but I was told by DT that a lot of timing had to be pulled for the 85mm pulley. The car wasn’t very happy on hot days or under certain driving conditions. I am now on E85. In the winter I run an E85/91 mix for better start ups and driveability—something approximating E35-E55.

2- Not me.

Tried to get the custom crank pulley to no avail. Anyone know of larger aftermarket offerings? Everything I am finding are simply marketed as being lighter.

Hi K,

We don’t specifically manufacture larger crank pullies, but for our car, we made a custom pulley to suit the boost required.

There are some aftermarket balancer kits available for the 86 you could use, and you would need to make sure it is larger than factory to boost the supercharger further.

CARB certification has been progressing and we are hoping that it will be available later this year.

Thanks for your reply, couple of questions if you don't mind...

1- Do you have any cooling upgrades?
2- How long have you been running on the mentioned setup?

Regards

So I have two questions about the installation of this Harrop SC kit:

1) Why is it necessary to delete the sound tube when installing this kit OTHER THAN because the clean-side of the newly-supplied air box doesn’t have a fitting to connect it? The reason that I ask is that I personally like the sound and I don’t want to get rid of it if this can be avoided.

2) What is the reason for the removal of the water fittings from the throttle body eliminating the heating of the throttle body in cold climates? Again, the reason I ask is that I live in one of the northern states and If it can be prevented, I don’t want to eliminate this feature.

1. There's nothing to connect it to anymore, like you said!

2. It causes unnecessary power loss, which is what people want to avoid with aftermarket FI!

Maybe I asked the wrong question, let me rephrase the first question:

1) Why did the Harrop engineers decide to eliminate the sound tube as a feature of this supercharger kit? I don’t see any reason that leaving it in place could hurt anything or affect the operation of the kit.

And in response to your answer on the second question: How exactly could warming the throttle body cause any significant power loss. The increase in air temperature from the inlet of the throttle body compared to the outlet would be minimal at best and virtually insignificant compared to the heat of compression after the compressor outlet.

1. The reason for the sound tube was to give the car more engine noise. When you start adding performance parts from the aftermarket such as exhaust and dedicated intakes the volume will naturally go up. Thus the need for the sound tube is redundant. Secondly, intake performance will be greater with a smoother intake path. While in boost the roots blower will generate further suction and demand on the intake and the sound tube becomes a bump in the airflow.

2. The throttle body on the harrop kit is rotated 90 degrees and moved to the right of the engine bay to make room for the supercharger's snout. This means one of the throttle body's water lines points downward to the block. There is not enough room to pop the hose on and make a nice 90 degree bend. Secondly because of the blower and everything being a big chunk of aluminum the icing problem isn't really an issue anymore as if it is icing up you're probably not going to be running the engine until it is fully warmed up anyways. Emissions or not.

If you have any other questions just ask harrop via email. They have been very convenient at replying, though keep in mind the time zone differences. [sales@harrop.com.au>]

You mean it is not necessary to heat the TB in cold temperatures (less than 32F)?
