Why do you need a heavier shift knob? I have a sti duracon (lighter) and the precision is a bit better.

This is pretty close in appearance https://www.raceseng.com/sphereology...mm-shifter-arm

Some people prefer heavy shift knobs, some don't; you'll have to try it out yourself. I have a different Raceseng knob and like it.

Heavy for me.
Less force on my part to get into gear.
As for precision. I shift with my fingertips. (Thumb/Index/Middle) Much like my miata.
With the normal knob I have to palm.

The miata is opposite.

There is a reason we lighten the knob as much as possible on race cars.

Race car mods don't always translate to road car mods.

Don't trust the internet too much. Better to find a reputable manufacturer and stick with him. STI has some good factory options. You can check the differences below. One focuses on the operational feel and the other on a reliable response.

I just use the same train of thought, in choosing my mods.

Meh. Race cars also use solid engine mounts, solid bushings, straight cut gears, etc... just because it's good for a race car, doesn't mean it makes sense in a road car. I subscribe to the concept of buying the absolute best parts possible, but those can be different things depending on the use case.
