Holy crap one guy turned this nice friendly thread to a warzone.

He normally isn't a troll at all though so this has me baffled.
Defence by a strong offense?
Sort of embarrassed for coming to his defence at this point.

& STI died in 2007. Subaru doesn't even rally anymore...all the do is make good cars that are fugly.

& one more thing, people compare the new sti to the corolla.....the new corolla blows this car in regards to looks.

Sure it's not fast and performance oriented, but at least you can be seen in public with it.
Makes fun of people for buying 2015/16 WRX/STI's because they are "fugly" then points to a 2007 STI as an example of a beautiful car...

I am speechless...

Dude, no offense but you have really crappy taste. The 2007 STI looks like somebody went to Autozone and picked up a bunch or race/rice parts off the shelf then put them on an Impreza...

In other, more relevant news, I'm starting to find a lot of info suggesting that the 15+ STI is underrated from the factory a little bit.

It's been confirmed that even though the part numbers are the same, the A/R housing on the turbo of the new model is slightly larger than the 2008-2014 model. It shows on dynos too, as the power seems to hold steady up to redline compared to the previous gen where it died off earlier.

A lot of people are doing dynos and calculations and the consensus seems to be that the new STI is actually making like 320bhp. It's negligible in difference, but if it's true, that's kind of cool. I personally think though the difference in power numbers on dynos is more because of the improved chassis, resulting in more power getting to the ground.

Opinions?

I have read the same thing from various tuners.

yeah the whp on the dynos would seem to suggest a base hp around 320. Not really sure of the reason though. I doubt they would underrate them intentionally. Might be what you were saying, that they are able to put more power to the ground.

Where are you finding those numbers? All I can find is stock that are all well below 300 and some tunes that push 320.

Edit: Oh wait never mind I miss read your post! Ya looks like around 320. Odd that they wouldn't claim every horse they could on the specs though since it is the critical number to so many nowadays (not a slam but a fact)

I'm talking about the STI with the EJ engine, not the WRX with the fa engine. I'm also referring to BHP, not WHP.

EDIT: I saw your EDIT lol

I think maybe they're just sitting back and waiting for the RS to drop if it's true. Maybe Subaru will comment on something after the RS releases or something? Idk. It's all just assumption.

Ya, I figured that out after I wrote the first part of my post. I managed to read it as WHP even though it clearly said BHP.
