If fuses were blown then stuff would 100% not work. Not partially work

Forgot to mention I had the radio on the whole time during the install. Not sure if that was enough to drain the battery, but it probably did.

Sounds like just the battery to me. You started the car and moved it a short distance and then had the radio on for a while. Drained the battery to the point where it just won't start again. Charging it up may work but it may be on it's way out.

The engine mounts kind of dominated the experience so I haven’t even paid attention. Also doesn’t help that either one of the mounts or something else loosened and now at idle it sounds like the engine is a jackhammer that’s trying to escape from under the hood with lots of scary noises and movement. So the car is going back to the shop to have that re-torqued possibly.

As for the lockdown, it’s a bit cliché but it does really feel like the steering is locked down. There is less wobble. The rack feels lighter, which I personally don’t like, but overall it is an, albeit small, improvement.

Seems like it may be worth it to me. Oddly enough, I was considering the upgrade with motor mounts since if I'm going to have everything off, I may as well. Thanks for the insight, best of luck with the jackhammer! I wonder if the trans mount is loose now?

Thanks!

That did cross my mind, but not being too savvy mechanically, I have no idea how to rule it out. I have the Perrin trans support also. Is that different from a mount? The impacts (really best way to describe them) sound like they go with every other engine pulse, so I'm not sure what that means. One side of the engine seems to be moving more than the other and the sound is also apparent more on one side. It's also A LOT more apparent when I'm in the car as opposed to outside of it. If you've ever had a misfire and felt that jolt when pushing the gas, that's kind of what it feels like. Just a very loud THUD-THUD-THUD, which subsides once I'm past 800 rpm. Sucks cause the first two drives were amazing, just a tiny bit of vibration at the pedals and as soon as I started it for the third time, right away something felt off.

This definitely sounds like one mount is loose. I will assert that with upgraded mounts you will get a lot more noise and thudding in the car's interior, but it shouldn't be at all like you are describing unless they were solid mounts, haha.

Dyno day. Average of 2 runs was 158.91 hp. Sound about right for a 100% stock (even paper air filter) autotragic?

In case you're interested, I took the car back to the mechanic, he said he double and triple checked everything and it's all tight, so I'm assuming this is normal operation.

If this is what the Perrin is like, I can only imagine the violent racket Cusco mounts would produce, holy cow.

That first drive when they seemed quiet was when the car was already warmed up. I noticed the engine runs a lot more rough when it's below freezing outside, so could be the reason the mounts seemed harsh. I'll drive around on them for a month or so and if I don't like it, I'm switching to STI mounts. TBH I don't care about the noise. It sounds so violent that the hood is jumping when I'm taking off. The way to mitigate it seems to be giving it more revs in first. Anyway, so that's that.

Have the Cusco's they do not do what you are describing. things do vibrate more at idle but all good from there.

Thanks for the confirmation guys. I figured it was obviously battery but wanted to get second opinions just in case.

I was able to jump-start the car last night. I'll buy a new battery ASAP to replace my old one.

And now that my battery has been replaced, everything works fine now. Still waiting on parts to come in before I can reassemble everything.
