Seriously, why do they even have dealerships. Just sell the car to us directly at cost. I live about 10 minutes from the port Subaru delivers to so I will just go pick it up there when it gets here.

I told Andy from Subaru of El Cajon to do work!

I mentioned that the FR-S/BRZ forums operates like an underground tactical network committed to exposing good and bad dealerships. He didn't seem to be down with teh internetz though.

There are laws in place that prevent manufactures from selling direct to customers. There are multiple reasons like having a local presence to support the buyer. We need new rules that allow for Internet sales.

As I found out with my 2009 smart car (yes I owned and loved the smart car) there are no rules which require a to keep a local dealership open to service your car.

Lots of laws need to be changed like the fact that in Minnesota dealerships can't be open on Sundays even though their service department can.

Yeah I would have no problem ordering the car direct from Subaru. I do most of the maintenance myself and for major work I have a mechanic who charges about half what the dealer does. I wonder how long it will be before we don't need dealerships anymore, just like I wonder how long it will be before I don't have to pay for cable just so I can watch live sports which they could easily stream online.

Of the 27 dealerships so far in the 1st post, that accounts for 385 allocations. If this is a representative sample of dealership allocations, then the average allocation per dealer is 14 BRZ, and that means 8,400 BRZ for the year! Of course, we could've captured all the "big dealerships", and hundreds of dealers are only getting none or 1 BRZ, so this 8,400 estimate is very, very loose.
