Yeah not even just motorcycles, look at any high power high revving NA car. The Porsche GT3 uses a 102mm bore with a really short stroke, like 76mm. Only way you can rev the thing out to 8400RPM and make the kind of power they do.

I highly doubt anyone will de-stroke and over bore the FA20. I guess you could run a FB25 block with its 94mm bore and a FB16 crank with 82mm stroke. That would give you 2.3lt roughly. The you could run the FA20 heads with oversized valves and some porting. But who knows if the FB16 crank would hold up to revs as well as the FA20s because it is built for economy not performance.

Would make for an interesting franken engine tho

Interested for how this goes. Coming from the S30 world, N/A power is what really interests me...

Right on man I'm an N/A fan myself. I have a k24 civic right now and it's a blast.. I put down 300whp and 221tq on a very simple build.. Car has ran 11's on slicks..
That's pretty much the reason I can't really do another N/A 4 cylinder engine. It just wouldn't be the same

NA makes me happy.

Are you looking at pump gas build? You're increasing bore and compression and I think balance/blueprint is assumed, how about cams? Any idea on lobe profile? How extensive will the headwork be?

I personally think the FA20 motor is meant for NA build it just compliments the car's natural handling and purpose built I just wish it was cheaper than going boost I feel like for every hp gained via NA vs boost its like 1 hp/$200 vs 1 hp $100 with boost ugh

I hope they come out with more all motor parts especially cams I cant wait to see these babies

Question for you and OP. How is the reliability on a high horsepower NA build? Is the car capable of being a daily or is it like most highly modified cars that is better off as a weekend warrior? Plan right now, as I mentioned before is to stay NA, but I adamant that the car doesn't loose it's reliability

It's perfectly reliable (when done right). It's just most people don't like to let their cars fully warm up in the morning. So depending on your internals, this could be the motors undoing.. Not only that but if it's at a good amount of compression, you're going to need some decent gas. For those who have e85 pumps at their disposal, it's not a big deal..

What would one consider as decent gas? 91 is all I have unless I want to drive more than an hour to find a place with e85 or 100 octane.
