Looking good! You may want to consider running a ground cable up to the front as well. When I had my battery grounded in the trunk my cranking was pretty slow. Fixed after running a ground cable. This chassis must not conduct that great. It wasn’t a problem with the FA20 but the ls cranked a bit slow.

Sold my 255 17" tire setup. Purchased
Titan7 18x9.5 wheels
Falken RT660 275/35r18 tires

The tires rubbed, a lot.
Grabbed a fender roller, heat gun, pulled out the fender as much as I dared.
Still rubbed. Found the worse locations were actually where the rear bumper meets the fender, and at the back of the front fender-well. not the fender itself, but there is a frame rail behind the plastic liner.

I didnt take any photos of hammering the frame-rail protrusion down, but SpeedAcademy did a brief video on it on an episode with a FRS. 3 minutes 20 seconds in the video... screenshot here:

after that I have no rub in the front other than extremely tight turning radiuses, which i expected and plan to limit my steering input.

To combat the rear rub, I purchase RacerX adjustable upper control arms.
With these I pulled the wheel inward just a few millimeters using the upper arms and balanced the camber adjustment on the lower arms.

Hey mate, quick question about handling. How do you feel the weight distribution and centre of gravity changes have affected the balance and handling of the car?

Loving the updates, great build.

I feel like I notice a little higher center of gravity with some body roll, more than I notice the weight distribution, but thats likely because the original distribution is nose heavy. I need to re corner balance the car now that it has the cage, rear accusump, and battery in trunk.

I have to say man, reading this whole thread has been a journey. It's truly inspirational, the time and love you put into your car. I don't own an 86/brz, but I love them very much. I created this account just now for the sole purpose of telling you just how awesome it was reading all this.

I've picked up a new project- a Lotus Exige that I am working on a K24a2 swap for NASA ST4, Gridlife Club TR, and SCCA SSM.

No recent updates to the car. Just fun driving.

Thumbs up Appreciation and PCV question

Hey Spitsnaugle, appreciate the build write-up. You really saved me a ton of time on my LS3 2013 BRZ build. Your recommendations have been spot on and I frequently revisit this thread. I have a question about your PCV setup. I am currently having oiling issues on track in long left hand sweepers. It looks like you have changed your catch can setup and I am wondering if you have found something that works. It looks like you have taller valve covers as well.

My motor is basically stock except for cam. I am running a vented catch can off of both valve covers only .I have the valley port going to the intake port. I will be changing this to a non-vented can because of the picture below.

Here is what happens 1.5 laps in, oil catch can completely filled in that time and purges through vented top.
