Jet Hot has a bunch of colors available for a minimal extra charge, and I figured why not. Make em pop

The car sees no road use (miserable unless at full song on track) so emissions compliance isn't even a fleeting concern

I got an Ace 350 specific tune for OFT from @steve99. He charges a very reasonable amount (sub $50).

DAMNNNN I wish I would have known this. Maybe Steve99 can advertise this more. Can't look back as I've already spent the extra ~$800 on the ECUTEK/Delicious/Counterspace tune package. Already have an OFT could have saved some major cash!!!

Would be cool for someone to compare a Steve $50 tune with this high priced package. Since many of us already have an OFT

He does and has a chart and guide for tuning with romraider/oft on his Usefull Information and Tweaks thread. There is a chart for general ace long tube header timings further down the page. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=74754

The tune dialed in the ignition/exhaust timing for the 350 header over the generic in the link above and fueling is the only thing that you might want to adjust (if at all). He added some other tweaks for me like quiet startup and the fix for petal lag. In my case the tune was simple as i had complete stock car other than exhaust. The only "mods" i did were a drop in high flow filter and sound tube delete which don't affect the sensor or airflow. A CAI will change the maf sensor readings and will have to be adjusted.

What are the different options for an OFT tune on this header? Are there good canned tunes out there or would I have to get Shiv to make me a custom tune?

There aren't. You'd need a dyno tune, and a LOT of dyno time, to truly unlock the potential of an ace header.

I ended up forking over the bucks for the delicious tune. Selling the OFT will pay for half the tune package itself. Zach from DT would have revisions back to me in 24-48 hrs. In many cases it was me slowing down the process in getting logs back to him. And the revisions are done as many times as needed at no extra cost. In my case it ended up being 7.

I personally don't have experience but many said taking the Shiv method it could be days or weeks to just get a response on an email so keep that in mind.

In summary the money for the CSG/DT is worth it in my opinion

A canned tune would be a total waste on an ACE header. Your chances of getting a custom OFT tune (from Shiv) are slim to none (in my experience).

Your best bet with an ACE header is the CSG ACE+Delicious tuning setup. Why skimp on the tuning when you are buying the best header out there?

No I don't think so. I think ACE is shooting themselves in the foot. OFT can tune the header just as well as ecutek... Tuners do not like using the OFT platform because the files themselves are open... and I get this. I feel Ace should work Shiv to create a custom tune for cars with Ace Headers. They are missing out on sales because of this.

See above; a canned tuned always leave a LOT on the table.

There's a reason revisions are included with every tune, and EVERY SINGLE ace/tune combo is revised until running to CSG/DT/Zach's satisfaction.

One size fits all doesn't work if you're looking for the best. This isn't walmart, and you're not buying a suit off a rack; you're getting a bespoke suit tailored specific to your body, to make you look sharp.

Ace only make the manifold, have nothing to do with the tune. It is sold through a number of retailers. There are no tie ins with any specific tuner, it's just that DT often gets mentioned. It is Shiv who is not supporting this as, unsurprisingly, they have their own manifold. Supporting the Ace offerings would take away his sales.

Just find a local tuner who can dyno tune and pay for it or upgrade to EcuTek.
