Just a poll. And why you decided one way or the other?

Te37s break in the same manner as Rotas when hitting a curb. With that said, I rock real shit... Lol

Never mind. Poll started
I am running xxr just so I could get something on the car. But once I started to look at prices of the wheels I really wanted I realized I could buy a good starter drift car to build for the same amount. So I am holding off... For now. I have been known to change my mind

What.

Cast = shatter, forged = bend. I would rather have a wheel bend which would allow me to come to a safe stop off the road or track than a wheel that turns into a bunch of pieces potentially doing further damage to my car and endangering other drivers around me.

ive tracked/autox'd my rota torques on the STi multiple times. Even went off roading with em. I personally would only run rota wheels if i had a choice of "fake wheels" just because i dont trust xxr's and the other companies.

What are fake wheels? Wheels that aren't really wheels? Or are you talking like, knock-offs that imitate a name brand?

While I do agree with you to an extent, I had an M3 friend bend two sets of TE37's open tracking with them. Both cases, he couldn't just buy one of the wheels, he had to buy all 4. Basically a $6500 set of mistakes. He sticks to cheap wheels for the track (Enkei) and runs his new set of TE37's for street only.

I will personally be running Rota Grids. I can't justify running a set of $3200 wheels on a car that costs $25k new. With tires, that is near 20% of the car's worth. The car will depreciate in value, while the wheels won't. give it 4 years and it'll be 33% of the cars worth and just get worse. Maybe I'll change my mind one day, but for now with a DD only car, I'll stick with fake.

I can understand where you're coming from, and that's where most people are coming from.

Everyone has their preference and budget to keep in mind.:happy0180:

Only time I have a problem with replicas is when people try to put "real" stickers on it and pretend its real.

I agree 100%! It is what it is....don't try and pass it off as something more expensive :happy0180:

In all honesty, we all want real wheels. Who doesn't? Everyone wants the things they see in magazines, at D1 or Formula D events or shows like Hot Import Nights. While we all want those wheels, what wheels can we afford? You might could buy a set of Rays or BBS wheels, but will you have enough money to afford other parts for your car after you're paying a 4, 5, 6 thousand dollar credit card bill for a set of wheels? In my opinion, unless you're sponsored or just made of money, get a decent set of wheels that are a bit of an upgrade over stock and that you like better than the stock wheels. Honestly wheels have been made way too big of a deal in the last few years of car culture, especially with the whole "stance" and "fitment" movements. While I'll admit those cars are absolutely gorgeous, how much fun do they have driving it? It would irritate the hell out of me if I had to drive 1 mph over speed bumps just to avoid messing up my wheels.

TL; DR This car is about joy of machine, not who has the prettiest wheels, enjoy the car and stop worrying about all the little things. :happy0180:
