Can you add TPMS capability to Canadian BRZ?

I'm trying to buy a BRZ from Canada and import it to the US since I'll be saving about $3-4k for the exact one I want.

However, the only issue is that Canadian BRZ's don't come with a TPMS which is required in the USA. Is there any way to add TPMS capability to the BRZ?

Thanks for any help in advance!

You have accounted for all taxes, fees and duty I hope?
Be willing to bet that all the wiring and such is already in place and all you will need are the modules and sensors. Doubt it would be cheap to add though.

You sure they don't have it? The Canadian FRS version does.

Canadian BRZ's do not have TPMS. Well at least mine doesn't.

I've been running without TPMS for over a year and there are no lights on the dash.

How very odd. Would have thought they would be standard since they are pretty much a requirement here as well.

I wish my 2015 frs dont come with tpms. I dont need or want that electronic system on my cars. Must be a way to disable it like on a 2015 brz. Hope we find a solution one day.

Like others, I can confirm at least the 2013 Canadian BRZ doesn't have TPMS. Made life real easy when swapping wheels for winter and autocross.

Why is it being there a big deal? It doesn't effect performance or driving in any way

Aftermarket wheels + tires doesn't come with these sensors and I believe it cost like $80 for one from the dealers. It gets pretty annoying if you don't run tpms due to the liggt that stays on.

Yea you should be able to but you'll have to program them for it to work. So bring it to your nearest dealership and ask them how much they charge

He didn't elaborate on having aftermarket wheels, in which case I understand

do you guys think a non-equiped TPMS BRZ ECU could disable it into a FRS?

or is it possible to flash a BRZ ECU to an FRS one?

well, i have ordered a aftermarket set of wheel with tires already installed and i just dont want to swap 2 time a year these sensor between my set of wheel and tire....waste of time and money. i really dont like to have that tpms light in my dash.

i know, its not a big deal...but for me, its kinda annoying.

I don't understand what you meant by the first question.
The second part, I'm pretty sure the ecu are similar but I can't quite say that you can just flash mapping from one car to another one esp if it's oem mapping.

Is tpms really illegal to not have in the us?
