I've said it in other threads, that if someone is going to do a custom turbo setup and intake manifold on a 2JZ that will already need a stand alone engine management system and fuel system upgrade then save some money and use the 2jzge motor. The only block differences is the oil squirters, and the heads can get ported to flow better like the GTE head like you did.

The only down side on the older 2jzge motors was the distributor vs coil pack setup, but I guess there are fixes for that.
there is a fix for that! the VVTI heads have a cam sensor and are COP so it fixes all issues I was lucky and got a junk 2jzge vvti and I wanted to build it anyway so it all turned out good for me in the end!

Got the head assembled and fitted on the block.

Did a small amount of detail work to the block so I have fittings available for the oil pressure sensor and turbo. I took the banjo bolt and line then cut the line off and fitted a 1/4" NPT fitting to -4AN into the banjo fitting. Also re-threaded the oil filter bolt to accept the same thing 1/4"NPT to -4AN.

So I'm now trying to solve the valve clearance issue on the exhaust side, I'm thinking of going shimless buckets to save valve train weight but I need to order 24 buckets from toyota since the gap is pretty excessive... we will see what happens.

HEY! everyone sorry I haven't been updating this but yes the car is mostly done, its driving on the roads and I'm mostly messing with tuning and will have it on the rollers shortly.

so I'll start where I left off

the car was finally ready for the paint booth, it got ford's J7 (latest mustang metallic grey) sprayed with couple coats of clear.

I think it turned out pretty good, in the light it looks amazing almost like it has two different shades of grey like a light silver and a darker grey.

after that I ended up getting the engine all assembled after having some troubles with the intake cam to bucket clearance and ordering all new shims I decided to go shameless buckets from the 1zzfe engines. I also made the coil bracket to hold all the coils in place in the head. The coils are also from the 1zzfe engine a popular upgrade as they are smart coils that don't need a igniter box so they can be turned on by the ecu directly, it simplifies wiring they pack a punch for high hp and are cheap to replace IF one fails.

here we have the collins stage 5 kit and the nissan cd009 trans being fitted

as for wiring, I decided to leave the chassis side as it was and the engine separate. I have ecu master controlling the engine and made my own power distribution station to control it all and its all stuffed inside the glove box.

So after finishing up the wiring I started on the Fab work, I ended up taking the cheap eBay manifold cutting the flanges off and repurposing them for an entirely new exhaust manifold out of 316 stainless sch40 weld els, its a combination of mostly long radius bends and 6short radius where it turns to the collector. They are all matching per runner so its relatively equal length and also a true twin scroll collector.

after that was done the motor went in along with the transmission sitting on the cx-racing mounts on the lowest position. (if any of you are doing this pay attention to the sway bar and the aluminum oil pan) you will need to notch out the pan where the two flat edges poke out... you'll see what I mean

BAAAAMMM ITS IN!

^ you can also see I had to take out a part of the lower rad support where the crank pulley will sit... ***TIP*** if you get a fluidampr you'll have to do less cutting
