So, I have been waiting to get some used oil analysis back before I go posting. Sad thing is, as a bussiness I have to be a little more formal when I post, so I hold off of "fun" posts... Boring really, but I look like a jerk if its not all on the up and up.

Anyhow, let me just contribute our findings after several track days and thousands of miles with the new redline product I have been waiting for... MT85. What they advertise as being the "redline of synchromesh" if you read between the lines.
We also have the Pentosin (good call by our friend above) as well as BG Snycroshift II (the synthetic version).

So far, the redline has seen the most diverse conditions (ambient between 48 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit) and everything from 250 miles constant highway, city and of course several hundred track miles at full blast.

The combination of the perrin shift bushing and redline are SUPURB. The stock shift knob works a whole hell of a lot better and no more odd grinds! I still prefer our prototype shift knob (lighter and taller than OEM).

More to come... UOA etc, etc (sorry if this is hard to read, I typed it on my phone and was eager to contribute)

You forgot the data. Hehe.

So you prefer the MT-85 over the MT-90? Any concerns that Toyota calls for a SAE 75W-90 oil? Did the MT-85 solve the 2nd gear issue? Thanks.

My research experience.

Been doing some research as I wanted to meet OEM specs when changing out fluids after break-in. My dealership service manager inquired at the regional level and one does not have to use the owner's manual specified Toyota MG Gear OIL special II. GL-4 is fine. Motorcraft XT-M5-QS is highly recommended on the Miata message boards for smoothing out transmission notchiness. It is GL-3 compatible and is made in Germany for Ford, I am not sure by whom. It is a 75w-90 oil and lists for just over $21 a quart but I found a local Ford dealer who sells it for $17.50. I am going to try it out. Will post what I think when I get it done. Also an email responce to my inquiry from Pentosin stated that MTF2 has not been tested in the BRZ and that they could not recommend its use in our vehicle. See link below.

Change my mind

Might have been to quick to post the recommendation for the Motorcraft oil. I came across this post.

I'm an oil snob, and you should be too...
VI is lower on the newer toyota SN, whereas their older SM formula was an industry leader.

That said, the subaru SM oil is great too. Right now I'm drinking the eneos sustina, and its yummy in 0w-20
btw, the only redline product I use is their 85-140wt diff oil in my trucks arb locker
