Member Classifieds sections of forum (with posting by classifieds rules). But not sure that without sufficient number of posts, if you'll be able to post there.

A01C vs B01C Roms
So, my second 2013 BRZ didn’t come with a working tuner.
The OFT I plugged in to check it says the car ECM calibration code is B01C (MY2014 Rom even though it’s a MY2013) but that the tune in it is A01C (MY2013) and I am unsure which to use to put in a 91 tune. I am leaning heavily towards B01C. Someone on Facebook (with a romraider profile picture, which is confidence inspiring at least) let me know that the B01C is the newer version of the A01C and a better base ROM, and that they are interchangeable. The latter was news to me as I thought the ECM code was very specific but I am not an expert, so I am wondering if anyone can corroborate their statement. Last thing I would want to do is brick my ECU weeks before moving cross country. All I am trying to do is swap from a 93 tune to a 91 tune using my OFT from my first car, saving the 93 tune as the "stock map" Is there another way to identify and double check the ECM code without my OFT, other than taking it to a shop?

When the oft marries to car it reads in the current tune. Whatever the calid is the oft will only ever lose ad tunes of same calid as the tune it read in when it married so it basicly stop you from loading an incorrect calid. Some 2012 cars got a dealer update from 700C or A00C or A01C to B01C Oh I'm the same guy as on Facebook :-) Note that an oft can only ever flash one car at any one time it will only flash car with same VIN as it's married to. Unless the tunes form old car are same calibration I'd as new car you won't be able to load them to oft Last edited by AussieBRZ; 07-29-2023 at 06:52 PM. |
