225/50 is actually sized appropriately for a 7" rim, and is what I run. If I went to a 7.5" or 8" rim, I'd also move to 245/45. And +30 is too much offset for my taste.

I actually managed to score a second set for similarly short money. So I street one set, and the other have my track tires on them for the time being, until the inevitable happens...

Both of you found amazing wheels. That's talent. Maybe I'm just not doing it correctly, or are both of you on the west coast? I would love to find a used set of forged 16" wheels.

I'm running a set of 16x7 Speedline wheels for my winter setup.
The OE finish is shot due to neglect from the previous owner. They're currently dipped until I decide what I'm doing with them.

Have you tried checking JDM importers?
That's where I found my 17x8 A-tec finalspeed/finalmind wheels, and 16" speedlines.

I drive with 16x7 and 205/55-16 during winter. I *hate* them. It is like a whole new car again when I go back to 17x8 245/40-17 setup in spring.

Haha - not me. New England. And I found both sets in New Jersey, via the For Sale section of the forum. Just gotta be patient.

Nice score! You're gonna feel the difference with a light tire. The suspension just seems more nimble, quicker reacting. It's nice...subtle, but definitely there.

My next big purchase is going to be a Wilwood WRX front brake kit - 12 more pounds dropped, per side. That should also be noticeable...

Like the speedlines. Go bronze, gold or a darker color.

Thank you and I am counting on it.

I thought they were down 16lbs per corner?

While they are different to drive on compared to low profile, the mushy winter tires you were on are a different animal.

It took me a couple of years to find these and I had about 5-6 wheels in mind. They're still not exactly what I wanted, they come in 7.5" wide ET 35 but these will do

Canada not CA :P

Keep trying and you'll find something! Ebay is a good source too.
