I think this concept is great. It makes you appreciate coupe more, and it also shows you the production design could be worse than it is.

Considering he backed this project and said it's more likely to make production then the convertable (still not likely imo) I find that to not be an accurate assumption.

Also kind of a wierd you chose an option that made him dead instead of some other figure of speech...

I love how they can't figure out how to put a rear wiper on the thing, seeing how pathetic it is already with the CT200h.

Not a fan, looks like they are using remaining hatch parts from the discontinued XD & mashing it into a FR-S/86. It's like they are trying to get the buyers who couldn't purchase the sports coupe version since it wasn't a family car. "Hey honey can I buy this car? It's not a sports car it's hatchback. Plenty of room for groceries & the stroller. LMAO.

It's a good start. It probably also looks better in person than in photographs due to pics not reflecting compound curves and "top" curves well to the human eyebrain. I'd be seriously interested as a hatch OR a wagon.

Great idea, poor execution.

Just look at the BMW Z3 Coupe and M135i two doors if you want to see proper shooting brake and hatchbacks.

With major fanfare and a spectacular flourish Toyota unveiled the Shooting Brake concept version of their popular 86 model sports car. The elaborate ceremony was conducted in the back lot of Bruce's Bakery and Roo on a Stick in downtown Middleofnowhara, Australia before an estimated crowd of 8.

Although popular local car model Cooky Dhooh was scheduled to appear for the ceremony she was unable to attend due to her cat giving birth to kittens. The litter consisted of 2 white, one black and an orange tabby. Mother cat (Miss Fluffy Bottom) and all the babies are doing fine and letters of congratulation may be sent to Cooky through the local newspaper office. The kittens should be ready for adoption in 6 to 8 weeks.

The concept car features a slightly raised rear roof line and a hatch.

When asked why the concept did not include the 17 MY bumper, lights, wheels and other features a high ranking Toyota official told this reporter "we only had two sets of everything and we sent them to New York last month".

The response from the crowd was overwhelming with comments such as "meh", "who slipped the Veloster in?" and "OK can we get some roo on a stick now?" prevalent amongst the throngs.

Toyota would like to thank Bill for organizing this major event, Sheila from next door for providing her spare painting tarp and Fred for taking the official pictures with his iPhone 3. Stay tuned for more exciting updates on this very important milestone concept.
This is a masterpiece of modern literature.

ichi's concept is great and I like how it looks a lot alike the wrx/sti hatch and less like the lexus ch

Ugh. Not a fan. Also, even less of a fan of the BMW things. The only shooting brake I can stand is probably the MGB GT. Somehow, the proportions on that car work. Oh, and Ichi's rendering actually looks pretty good too.

I am also predicting future butthurtness from the wrx/sti folks saying "why does the frs/brz get a hatchback but we don't?!?"

I'll prob get some hate for this but ichi's version could almost be achieved with some Rocket Bunny fenders and if it flowed somehow the 5AD skirts (his lines look like that to me). If not just the fenders, a nice front lip and rear diffuser would be good I think
