its wreckless and stupid and illegal. most importantly its not just the life of the driver but everyone around him. its a big deal because i dont want it going on on the streets that me and my family use. also, im pretty sure the mustang crossed the double yellow

"My god damn insurance rates." Is all I can think of every time I watch these videos. As if it's not hard enough having a red coupe as a 24 year old.

Street racing is awesome! I like the part where they raced on the street.

this is MEH, break in happens at factory and maybe 50 miles into ownership "break-in" periods are for 2 reasons 1. if you beat on it, and they pull that information, they could deny warranty 2. if something wasn't manufactured right, engine failure would be less catastrophic, less damage would be done to the engine ( less damage done from you beating on the engine and it would expose the failed part better to toyota/subaru so they could quickly find a solution to the defect.)

Initial break-in yes, that happens immediately.. however there is further wear in that does occur over the 1k mi "break-in" period. As you mentioned that has been demonstrated with literal dyno proof that there is a difference in power laid down between brand new and 1k mi later. Its not just the ECU.
are you going to hurt it if you romp on it within 1K mi? No, likely not. I started driving mine through the rpm range and with wot runs here and there around 600 mi.. runs like a champ. Did the same thing with my WRX and that ran 97K mi without issue at stageII power levels. Break-in is for breaking parts in. Not warranty or the preposterous thought that engine damage is lesser so at 4k RPM vs 7k rpm... if it blows it blows man, it'll be replaced entirely either way. |
