The SARD version doesn't have any type of valve or actuator unit to replace the factory throttle body mechanism, so I am guessing it reuses the factory TB as well.

The "tune" that SARD wants to sell with the kit seems like an average off the shelf ECU tune, plus there is no requirement to buy another throttle body.

CSG has a 2017 test mule with a full Ace setup . I suspect multiple ITBs may be tested on this car. Currently the test mule is boosted, but that's been on and off the car several times.

Just to clarify, my 2017 is my own 2017.

We need catless results, not catted. We know how strict Cali is with their emissions.

I'm fully catless. I live where there is no smog testing.

Where in California do you live where there is no smog testing?

It seems like both the Sard and Greddy kit use AE111 4A-GE itbs. So that would mean any difference in performance would be strictly from the airflow from the different plenum designs. Really excited to see testing results!

A lot of places in CA don't have a smog requirement. Emissions checks mostly fall in line with topography, i.e. areas of the state where pollutants collect at lower elevations and are an issue.

As I mentioned before, I'm fairly certain SARD uses some variation of the OE throttle body as well, there's no requirement to buy the ECU tune as part of the throttle body and my emails with Japan have not revealed any need to buy a throttle body replacement of any sort. The kit itself does not have any motor mechanism for the ITBs either.

I might need to figure out a way to register in your zip code.

There's a few of those down here in SoCal too, but I have no idea what the zip codes are.

Any address in Inyo County, for example. So any of the towns on your way up to Mammoth.

Or Julian, CA 92036.

The Greddy also comes with a throttle body synchronizer and electronic AFR dongle for equalizing the cylinders. And agree on anticipation for the results. I'm guessing they will have notably different torque curves. People will probably be experimenting with their own stacks soon too since getting the mechanicals sorted is the hard part.
