Diesel engines are nasty polluters. After driving behind a "clean" diesel, I will never buy one.

Cool story, bro. Any cursory Google search will prove that modern diesels are cleaner than gasoline engines (albeit only by a marginal amount; much smaller than the diesel enthusiasts would have you think).

I traded in my 2012 A4 quattro MT for a 2015 BRZ series.blue.
Funner to drive, cheaper to fix, less likely to break in the first place. On other side, Audi fit and finish w interior is quite good and ofcourse quattro in bad weather vs rwd low sports car...no comparison |

Odd comparison. I don't think many people shopping for a BRZ is going to be also looking at an A4. 2 door vs 4 door, NA boxer vs Turbo inline, rwd vs awd, german vs japanese...the list goes on. Not many would argue that the Audi has better build quality and is faster in a straight line. That torque does wonders. BRZ will always win on fun factor in my opinion.

Not quite an A4, but I recently bought an Audi A3 2.0T with sport package. It is a great second car and the quattro will be fantastic in our winters. Build quality is way better than my FRS and it is much faster, but in terms of handling and fun, I'm glad I have the FRS for driving pleasure.
I wouldn't buy one car over the other, I think they are a perfect duo though. |

Ho Le F#@&
That is big. The news outlets are saying it affects 482,000 cars - the recalls and the fines should be absolutely epic. From Road and Track website: "The EPA says VW admitted that the device existed when they were threatened with not being allowed to sell 2016 model year diesels in the US." Seemingly odd move by VW to admit that.. can't wait for more details of the story. |
