Since the other thread closed, just giving an update. Sinus infection is 90% gone. Still have a nasally voice, some occasionally sniffles and coughing up mucus. But better than before.

Obviously, you don't work in a hospital, and if you do you don't understand how they "make money".

Hospitals very seldom have empty beds, even in a non-Covid world. They also make most of their money from non-inpatient procedures, etc. Then there's the fact that most hospitals are non-profit. Less than 20% of US Hospitals are "for profit" hospitals.

Fuck. I had something similar when I was in Alaska at the beginning of July. Couldn’t have been more ashamed that I traveled, acquired some pathogen (or a suffered a nasal infection through allergen?), and was bringing it back home.

Lasted a couple days sniffling and snorting out mucus.

Work in a university and come back to that statement. The amount of reagents, models, slides, books, scopes (we have some from our non-majors bio that have West Germany manufacturing stamps) and so forth gathering dust here... We are certainly hoarders, and it doesn’t benefit as much as we hope.

What good does a microscope slide library do us when we don’t use them in most of our labs anymore?

Oddly enough, that's apparently what happened in 1911 as well.

I'm being a pedant but your statement is only true for private hospitals. For public hospitals everyone loses.
